Turbo Troll Racing 99
Our rally car started out as a relatively tame 1975 99 LE. For performance and reliability it has been modified as follows:
Chassis:
- Custom built 8 point roll cage fully tabbed to A and B pillars and extending to the front spring towers
- 1/4" aluminum skid plate mounted to 3/4" steel tubing subframe
- Front frame rails fully boxed
- Spring towers seam-welded
- All undercoating and sound deadening removed
Suspension:
- Bilstein coilover front suspension with rally valving
- Hypercoil springs with various rates from 325-600 lbs/inch to suit conditions
- Rally valved rear Bilsteins
- Rear SPG springs
- Fully boxed and reinforced upper and lower a-arms
- 900 rear axle
- Adjustable rear panhard rod with heim joints
- 86-87 turbo vented front knuckes
- SP slotted rotors
- Wilwood Dynalite front Calipers
- Volvo 240 rear calipers
- 900 P/S rack with 1.5:1 ratio reducer
- Tilton dual master cylinders with balance bar
- Rear hydraulic handbrake
- Full stainless hard and soft lines with AN fittings throughout
- '86 B202 block
- '98 new gen 900 ported cylinder head and cams
- Ported and modified 2.1 liter intake manifold
- Custom side mount intercooler
- Aluminum flywheel
- 9000 turbo clutch and pressure plate
- '93 900S 5 spd transmission
- E.T.T Sweden plate type limited slip differential
- 12 gallon ATL fuel cell
- Dual walbro fuel pumps in redundent setup
- Stainless hard line inside cabin with 6AN hoses to engine and cell
- Custom wiring harness with weatherpack connectors and all fuses/relays on dash
- Rear mounted drycell battery
- Central mounted master kill switch
- Electromotive Tec-2 for fuel/spark and boost control
- 3" thick custom aluminum radiator
- Custom aluminum surge tank
- Selection of original Saab Minilites and Shelby clones
- Pirelli and Falken tires to suit conditions
