Re: Lagertha, 85 SPG Sport Touring

Agreed, nice to see a bit of activity here lately. Sounds like a good project, and nice to see another one getting back on the road. In terms of the tools, you can do a lot with a welder and an angle grinder. Bench grinder and a vise get pretty handy as well. 10 years ago thats what I had along with...

Re: Rally Suspension project

For the one time I did NEFR I got a set of Eibach springs and ran regular Bilstein HD's. It could be a bit bouncy at times in the rough stuff, but in general it felt/drove well. Fronts were 1300.500.0250 and the rears were 1200.300.0300S (Length.Diameter.Rate) The only modification was to make a new...

Re: Rally Suspension project

I'll need to remember to come back later with more details. But I've looked enough recently to say for sure that the bump is first limited by the tire hitting the wheel well and would be closely followed by the lower arm crunching into the body, and the droop is limited by the upper A-arm hitting th...

Re: Bespoke Intake Manifold B202

That all looks really good. The manifold look very nice linished back like that. The 9000 rails are a really nice OE piece. For reference, maybe more for other people, I had no issues after welding an AN fitting in place of the return hose barb. The brazing is a nice touch though, very much keeps th...

Re: 900 Springs

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/EIB-12003000300S I think this is what I used in the rear. They fit the rear with out modification to anything, and I thought the ride height and rate worked well. The fronts I paired them with were also from Eibach and I think were a 13"x5" 250 lbs spring...

Cool to check and see the site back up, and a bunch of progress on this! Welding looks good.

Re: Bespoke Intake Manifold B202

Looking good, I imagine this will be well worth it when it comes time to start tacking things together to keep everything where you want it.

Where are those squares from?

Re: Bespoke Intake Manifold B202

Nice bench set up, definitely looks more comfortable then just laying it on the table. I have one of these https://weldtables.com/collections/fabblocks

Not exactly the same quality, but still really nice to have the holes and associated clamps etc.

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand

Slowing down on the shop projects a bit, but after tearing down the engine I made up an attachment for the 16v cylinder head. Was definitely helpful for removing the valves. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49853770437_355a4d3661_c.jpg"%20width="800"%20height="600"%20alt=...

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand

Thanks! After a couple years of thinking about it from time to time it was nice to put something together and have it turn out as imagined. If you end up making or buying one, I can't recommend the worm drive set up enough. The ease of adjustment and infinite range are great and a huge step up from ...

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand

I am, after a couple years I bought another kit and saved the rest of the old one for spare parts. In my case the pinion bearing housing broke, and the resulting thrust load ruined 4th gear and a couple other parts. So really not a failure of the S&R kit, and I didnt previously know of the weakn...

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand

 I started off just cranking it back and forth smiling. Tomorrow Ill see how it goes unbolting the gearbox by myself and getting it off the block. Maybe I need an adapter for a jack or something. The white car is my brothers not yet finished e30 rally/hillclimb project, although it should be do...

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand

Got the stand mostly finished up. Still needs paint, but I want to wait until after one round of using it first (and a nice day for painting) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49801058598_e4498aefaa_c.jpg"%20width="800"%20height="800"%20alt="BOXS8804"></a><script...
