Wanted - 75-80 99 Brake Booster and Water Pump Tool

I'm looking for a good brake booster for my recently acquired 76 EMS. Also need a water pump tool if anyone has one to sell. Much appreciated.

Re: 73 96

When I discovered the steel gears, I immediately swapped out the balance shaft gear. Not too concerned about the cam gear as they rarely fail. The optical illusion pic made me do a double take. The gear was not pressed all the way on to the balance shaft. I love the simplicity of the v4, or the B en...

Re: 73 96

Had a little adventure with a western diamondback rattlesnake. It was hiding feet from me next to the SiS :-O

I hope to have it running by next week :yay:

Re: 75 99 build

I would definitely do "modern" brakes and suspension while retaining the 8v engine. Looking forward to seeing this thing progress.

Re: 73 96

Finally getting some progress on the little 96. I disassembled the recently "rebuilt" engine that came with the car, and found it had actually been gone through. The overspray on everything had me thinking "spray paint rebuild". Glad I was wrong.

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?

Today I drove my 99 SE HOT to Discount Tire for some new tires. While waiting for the tires to be installed, I walked to the auto parts store to pick up engine paint for the v4 that's going into the 96. When I went to leave Discount tire, I noticed a mouse caught on the front left brake caliper :huh...

Re: 73 96

I know what you mean. It's been a while since I've been around here. I haven't had any interest in my Saab's or cars in general for a while. Turning wrenches for a living really killed my desire. Luckily I just got the job I had been hoping for and now my love for old cars has returned. This little ...

73 96

I just picked up my first 96. I always loved Sonetts, 99s, 900s, and 9000s, but never really felt the same about the 92, 93, 95, and 96 until the past few years. Anyway, a good friend sent me a C list ad for a 73 96 that had to be gone in 2 weeks due to the owner moving. Knowing that my wife would m...

Re: 79 or 80 green 99 in Seattle

Wow! Haven't seen a 99 in the wild (other than in a junk yard or my own) since a trip to Seattle in the summer of 96. During that vacation, I counted 11 99s including a few turbos and a cardinal red EMS notch back. Even saw a white 2 stroke 96 on Lake Washington Blvd, and an orange Sonett III near m...

The Bucket List

Not sure if this has been done yet here,(seems familiar) but if so, what the hell, lets start another. No one here really knows me, but Ive lived my entire life marred with heart problems. At this point, Ive become accustomed to bad news and I try to live each year is if its my last. What the hell c...

Re: It could be worse

This happened locally, and amazingly, the driver survived. It looks to be a 99 9-3.The news said he hit a truck head on, then the car was thrown on train tracks where it was then hit by a train. :-O I hope the poor guy pulls through.
