This is super pretty!
Are you going to run 2 fuel injectors per cylinder?
What car will this go into?

Re: 2024 MANX CLASSIC 3 DAY HILLCLIMB 99 TURBO
Well that's not great news! I'm sorry to hear about the car but I'm glad that you're OK! Your stage time was great. Must have been right on the limit! It's inspiring to see that you're ready to keep going and already have a build in mind. Here's some 3-door (900) inspiration. ONeilRallySprint_Stages...

Re: 2024 MANX CLASSIC 3 DAY HILLCLIMB 99 TURBO
The car looks great, and the scenery, too! Good luck! I'm just now realizing that the lights on your bumper are Bosch Knick. I have a set of those that I haven't run in a number of years. I remember them being suprisingly bright compared to Hella 2000 and maybe even brighter than the Hella 4000. I a...

Re: Per, the 77 99 Rally
Wow, Dennis that 99T is nice! John, I'm glad to hear you are planning to convert the molds to vacuum forming. I remember Jason was asking about that a while back. I've been thinking that would be a great way to make those fender flares. Keep us informed of your progress! Also, it's cool that you're ...

Re: MANX CLASSIC 2023 HILLCLIMB OVER 3 DAYS
Three hillclimbs in three days? That sounds like fun! Best of luck prepping the car! I haven't read through your 20 pages on UK SAABs but I did scroll through and saw some of the pictures. You've sure done a lot of work on it! Did you end up putting that 4-puck clutch in? I had one in an '85 16V Tur...

Did you ever find a B-engine 900 water pump cover?

Re: rally 99 primary drive ratio
With your new primary ratio you'll probably max out around 145kph. I don't know about Australian roads but I know a lot of 'well prepped' cars here top out around the same speed. But we do get some long straights, we had a stage last year where we had the 900 up to 150kph. Interesting anecdote: we u...

Re: rally 99 primary drive ratio
That's a great setup! So did you build a 31:27 (1.15) or a 31:30 (1.03)? In RallyHo's 900 we run a S&R gearset (pretty similar ratios to FLD), S&R 6:31, and I think a 30:30. We talked a little about what a shorter primary would be like but I think we decided the car was geared OK (on one eve...

Re: Clutch slave failures...WTF?
Yeah, I've had that exact same issue on a 99. The slave popped apart when I stepped on the clutch, I installed a new aftermarket slave cylinder, it popped, I rebuilt it.... I had the same thing with the lightened/re-faced (thin) flywheel and being able to get the cylinder in without having to use th...

Re: rally 99 primary drive ratio
What are you running for the main gear set? 4spd, 5spd, Sport & Rally or similar?

Re: 88 4 door "Rotsaab"
It looks like some of the car got some bodywork/paintwork at one point. Maybe the trunk and roof were repainted? The badging is laid out wrong; (upside down) "S" "900" instead of " 900 S". That usually indicates a body shop that stuck badges back on when they didn't hav...

Re: Rally Suspension project
Shocks: Yeah, take some measurements and see what you think you can fit/retrofit in there. I'd have to dig for #s for valving but whatever we were running or any of us ran at one point may not be ideal if we're messing with spring rates, bump stops, etc. anyway. I started looking at the suspension c...

Re: Rally Suspension project
Springs: There are online spring rate calculators that you can use to get a fairly close calculation for the spring rate. You need to take some measurements (wire diameter, coil diameter, # of coils, shape of the ends of the coils, etc.) and plug that into the calculator. https://www.thespringstore....

Re: Rally Suspension project
Hydraulic Bump Stops: You could replace the old rubber bump stops with the hydraulic bump stops. They're not super expensive at around $200 (though they're expensive compared to cheap chunks of rubber). I think they're expensive when they're built into a full strut assembly, but since we have a sepa...
