Re: Junkyard trip this weekend, anyone need anything?

sjones: there's actually a chance I may have a pair of 1979 tail lamps in my garage... no clue what condition they're in... will check next time I'm there... I'm looking for a leather seat cover (bottom bit, not seatback) for my '85 SPG--has to be the earlier Bridge of Weir Sierra Tan stuff, not the...

Re: Hello from Vancouver, BC

I have seen three other '85 SPGs in Vancouver. One, I know the owner, it has grey panels. Another, I've seen several times and is curiously altered and has black panels but who knows if they're original as the car's obviously had mondo bodywork. Both these two have appalling interiors. The Bridge of...

Inca lugs are the same as Soccer Ball lugs, right?

Just a taster, it's the only pic of my garage I have handy... it's worse now...

The washing machine has been replaced by a B201. Those bare rims in the back are soccer balls off a '79 900 EMS :D

Re: 16 Valve B202 engine rebuild 2011

Dennis... amazing work... just massive respect on the whole setup. Congrats! Stephan--yeah we definitely had some fun with The Bitch on Sunday! I think we did an awful lot more cranking than Dennis did, though! We though we started with your battery fully charged, we had to have the jumper cables ho...

Re: WANTED: Sierra Tan Bridge of Weir seat bottom cover for

I really want the original Bridge of Weir leather. It's got such a fantastic feel to it. I do have a bit of patina on the rest of the leather so it'd be nice to get something old that has a bit of a lived-in but cared-for look to it, but if I can just never find anything, I'll order an entire new in...

Re: Hello from Vancouver, BC

Thanks SwedeSport! The panels are black. I'm not sure how many, but the first SPGs delivered in North America had black panels. Mine's 11/84 build. I've read the switch to grey was around 12/84, certainly by 1/85. I have the original invoice and can track the car's history back in time quite nicely....

Re: Hello from Vancouver, BC

Thanks Drew! As you can tell, I prefer to own the most weird and wacky one-off transition year of whatever car it is that takes my fancy... I've been trying to logically update to later stuff as I go. Given the fact that my engine bay needs to appear essentially stock due to the Collector status, I'...

WANTED: Sierra Tan Bridge of Weir seat bottom cover for '85

Hi all! My very clean and original '85 SPG desperately needs some leather! Most of my interior is in good shape, however the panel in the driver's seat ahead of where your ass goes (i.e. when you look down when sitting in the seat, it's the one between your legs) has a massive tear in it that isn't ...

Re: You know you're a SAABrallist if.....

-In the photo of Erica out behind the Compound, you wonder why she didn't go find a work bench to set the spring compressor on to get it up higher to work on.... rather than looking at her ass. on the other hand, perhaps there is some hope for me... I wasn't concerned about the mechanical operation...
