Thanks for confirming my thoughts on studs. They've been added to my list of things to do. I have not found any disc brakes cars yet to supply me with rotors, calipers etc, and the 68 that may be coming my way has drums. I've already bought NOS front wheel cyclinders and am having high friction pads...

Well it looks like I may have found something to push me over this hump of hard to find early front axle pieces. A buddy of mine has come across a 68 two stroke with a 4 speed. If I can get it, it should make a good donor for a trans, column, and newer axles. The car is 100 percent complete and prett...

Okay Sean, I'll follow your advice on wheels and turning brakes. That will save me some money and some searching. While rebuilding the front end components, I disassembled the steering knuckles to find a world of problems. http://www.members.aol.com/jk1966/ebay/springcup1.jpg This little spring cup ...

Okay...for now I'll leave the wheels alone and continue to look for a set of early Sonnett wheels. The front suspension is all out and I'll start replacing bushings, ties rods, ball joints, cv joint and steering boots. As suggested earlier, I plan on welding some 14g steel to the bottom of the lower...

Okay....last Sunday finished the rear axle assembly. Installed new bushings ( stock), bearings, wheel cylinders, brake springs, shoes, and new shocks. http://www.bikeisland.com/images/63saab10.jpg E brake cables were greased and in good shape. I've got braided brake lines and limiting straps on the ...

Thanks for all the advice. I knew this was the place to come to! Geoff.....I know Bilsteins are the way to go. I'll check into the interchange between 99 and 96 shocks. Formulasaab.....I did not know that you tuned two strokes by EGT. Great advice. Can I drill and tap my cast iron exhaust manifold o...

Thanks for the advice and the video. It looks like it was a blast! I'd like to see how the battery cutoff was engineered. I've also got to have a cutoff inside the car as well. I've heard of Bruce Turk and I think I've seen him posting on the Vsaab forum. So far Chip Lamb has been my main source. He...
