Re: Twin Scroll Turbo
Just so the readers know, Dennis would have been a lot farther along this weekend if he hadn't spent half the day helping me pull an engine from a junkyard.

FS: 900 Notch in Western Washington State
Looks like Dan Morley is selling a 2-door notch (along with a second parts car): http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/4811721145.html http://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_X6TgMQFMT6_600x450.jpg I am moving soon and letting go of some of my accumulation of Saab cars and parts. This Saab 900 2 door is ...

No Alibi TSD Rally - June 7-8
For those of you who live in the Northwest, the 15th annual No Alibi TSD rally will be run June 7-8 this year. No Alibi is arguably the best gravel TSD in the PNW corner of the country, and it's a fantastic way to have fun while enjoying the beauty of Eastern Washington. The event begins in Moses La...

Re: Having trouble finding Nokian tires
Another 0.02 for the Generals, which IME are just as good as Hakka 2s (granted, not cutting edge for a number of years) and, as noted, cheap. On the TSD rally car, the Generals seem to lose studs more often than the Hakka 2s -- not sure if that's because of who studded them (Sears, as it happens; ma...

Re: Greenwood Car Show Seattle 2013
Yeah, I'm lame -- I wanted to go but I hadn't moved the notchback since last fall and it barely ran when I recently tried to start it. Lacking time to troubleshoot, it sat some more. Ironically, after I went to the show -- I saw your car but not you -- I was inspired to work on it (bad AMM). The pai...

+1 for Scanwest, been going to them for years, including for a number of gearboxes and related parts.

Oops (Don't tug your Saab's ass)
Usually when I'm doing a TSD, I sit on the right side of the car, messing up a TimeWise. However, in February I had an opportunity to drive the Thunderbird Rally up in BC, in my friend Dan's 85T. Of course, I stuffed it (too early on the gas) and, at one point, had to get a tug from the sweep truck....

Re: WTB: Double vent hood for 900
Dan C and I went to his place recently and grabbed the rear bumper from that early 900. Love that color; wouldn't mind having an early Turbo at some point...

Re: type 4 or 5 primary gearsets wanted
Call Brad S. at KC Saab. He used to be involved with circle track racing Saab 900s, but I believe he's not doing it anymore. Still, if anyone can point you in the right direction, it'd be him.

what to do in Trollhatten??
A friend is traveling in Sweden and was wondering what he should see/do in Trollhatten, in addition to checking out the Saab museum.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Project Loki - 1988 classic SAAB turbo
Nice to see some progress. Awesome wound, too :-)
I'm concerned about your battery - without the heatshield it can melt - I nearly did this when I converted a non turbo and decided to drive it without the shield. That elbow gets plenty hot.

Re: Real Sport and Rally Fender Flares
I haven't bought anything from Dennis but I can also vouch for the quality of his work, not to mention the thought that goes into doing it. Given his day job, his parts are more "born from jets"than Saab's were... (Maybe he could cut the price if he got his daughter to do some o...

Re: G-stock or DSP build
IMHO, don't worry about the engine, except do what you can to minimize lag (by which I mean learn to left-foot brake). You can add one swaybar in stock -- add a rear bar. Lots of people put front bars on FWD cars, but that's because they have camber-challenged MacStrut suspensions; you don't, thankf...

Damn, let's hope bad Saab luck in the PNW comes in threes: my theft and your run-ins with idiots!
