Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

when i build mine back in the day, i lathed down an AC pulled with a lip, than welded the crank wheel onto it,, it worked great, however from a production standpoint it would be completely illogical to do it this way, here is how i took the pulley down you can see the remainder still on the lathe. h...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

its cool to see setups like this, My first one wasnt much different, although i always go from the bolts located under the alt, not the ones on the oil pump cover.. nothing wrong with a DIY setup, although i am not certain how much i like the idea of having to re-center the wheel every time its remo...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

got a 2.1 NA c900 done last weekend, we were battling some fuel pressure issues with it, once resolved it was up and running great! Since people have been asking about the "replacement crank bolt" included with some kits, here is a general explanation. From what i can tell, saab used two d...

Re: T5-ing my 99

when i deal with c900s, i generally use the speed sender for the cruise control behind the dash, no idea where to pull from in a 99.

the last wire for the CPS goes to the middle pin of the 5.5 CPS plug, this is a the reference ground,

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

the bolts, and washers really are not that costly, and less than 1/4 of the purchasers need them. hence why i dont even bother billing extra for them. also, not all c900s have that huge spacer, Example; here is the crank bolt from a 1991 SPG https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/844...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

2.1 c900s used a hall effect wheel behind the harmonic balencer. by using the 2.1 balencer, oil pump cover, and hall effect sensor, combined with a 91-93 9000 hall effect wheel you can run the system like its a 5.2 car. doing this requires relocating 2 wires in the harness, and being able to flash E...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

by signal strength i was was talking about the margin of error in how the sensor is gaped seams to be greater with these wheels. just an observation. price is relevant. the time is saves the user vs fabricating there own is worth every penny of what I'm asking. Anuther factor is in the money is save...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

its funny you mention painting, any quality paint on the outer edge tone wheel will upset the signal given to the CPS. Sadly this is an "ask me how i know" situation. you mention an 8v project, i have been working on retrofitting coil packs to a t5 system. not so much for 8v saabs, but for...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

i know, and what good is a forum without criticism? what i think is funny is that despite all this negativity, not a single person has made a gripe about the layout. of the kit, or the design flaws it seeks to fix. i guess it just isn't shiny enough for the people on here yep, i was that guy, once y...

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

i've never been much for a sales pitch, and i never named any other persons product. The comparisons i made (price aside) vs other styles of CPS kits were all being made against the kit i built 4 years ago for my own personal car. Here is the simple sales pitch - even though you can find the parts, ...

Re: T5 Wiring Harness Help

I looked at Mike's post on Saablink and it looks like a wire bomb. Kudos for making it work, but not the prettiest install (which he acknowledges). I'd be willing to do whatever, I just need to look at a specific harness and make a plan. It sounds like the mid year NG harnesses are the best to use ...

dont worry, for you ill make one out of solid gold***

it should be noted that tone wheels need to be made from either steel or iron, because they need to be a magnetic surface

Re: Trionic 5 CPS kit! 150$

the trigger wheel was the easiest way to accomplish the end result, the side benefits of using it are huge compared to trying to use an OEM wheel. they keep labor cost down, they make construction much simpler, and they make the end result better. Why would i use anything else? Making fun of the qua...
