Re: 89T Daily Beater Project

Reading through the August 2014 Grassroots Motorsports magazine. Small article about Carlisle... and it looks like swedesport's 89T is in the picture.

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

I got a new CPS from Eeuro and so far no change in behavior. Looked through the wiring and found that the CPS coaxial connection was switched with the non coaxial, pretty sure it wouldn't make a difference, but I went ahead and switched the pins. i had someone crank the engine over while I moved the...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

had my car jumped to a running car to ensure proper battery voltage and tested basically every air gap within the adjustment limit in < 0.5mm increments. checked what kind of AC voltage the CPS puts out and its less than 1 volt during cranking around 0.5 volts. been looking at the wiring for the CPS...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

I have been trying both your prepared ECU and another one I got from the junkyard. I set my CPS out to 3 mm, but I'm going to play with some different gaps this afternoon. I'm going to check voltage at CPS and I think I might try jumping the relay if playing with different air gaps doesn't give me a...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

Ok, so I changed out the pin on the DI, much harder to get out than in. Checked every pin on the ECU to make sure they were going to the right place. as far as i can tell everything is in order and connected up. Still no tach signal- still no start. Went through some diagnostic steps and found out t...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

I tried to bend the terminal back into place with no success, it's ruined. DI is still in good shape. If you could send me a new pin set that would be awesome! In a perfect world I would send you the harness, but with exactly 1 month before i'm moving down to California... hopefully driving my saab....

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

supposedly pin 9, connected to pin 18 at the ecu, is used for ion sensing to determine camshaft position and synchronizes the injection and ignition firing order. Jordan... how am I going to fix this connector?

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

checking through the connectors I found this. Hard to see in the picture but pin 9 is completely crushed-in and is surely not making the proper connection. Not sure if this is associated with no tach signal but still can't be good.

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

So, pretty sure ecu is not the issue. Still getting zero tach signal while cranking. Sparkplugs are dry after cranking. Could I have a lemon cps? I ended up buying an ecu from a T5 with auto trans. Jordan your diagnostic ecu is on it's way back... I need the wiring diagram of T5 harness to continue ...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

oh really, minimum voltage... hmm interesting. I put my battery on a trickle charger because it was completely dead, but probably only charged it half way before cranking. I'll check voltage on my next attempt.

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

I pulled the spark plug at the number one piston and it was completely dry. ill probably go ahead and check the others after I give starting a try again. side story- Injectors are from a 98 900 that was high centered, sprung an oil leak, and then was carelessly driven until the engine ran out of oil...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

That would be awesome. The chances of me getting out to the junkyard next week is slim. Seems highly possible that it's the ECU, and at very least removes a big variable.

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

I don't have another ECU, but I was planning on picking one up if I make it to the junk yard next week to buy a BCV and turn signal switch. Would my fuel pump turn on if the ECU didn't flash properly? tach needle doesn't move when cranking, tach signal wire from from ECU is blue? I tried both blue a...

Re: Green Llama, 85 turbo T5 conversion

Lots of progress on the Llama, Everything from the eEuroparts T5 conversion has been installed and I really appreciated Jordan for making sure everything was correct for my car. But, i haven't been able to get her running yet. I think i'm not getting CPS signal. so far, i have checked and re-checked...

Re: 99/900 Manual Rack Bushings & A-arm spacers

I would would probably invest in some A-arm spacers. I made some spacers a couple years ago that work pretty good. They seem to put a lot of pressure on the sheet metal, definitely not perfect. IMG_0941.jpg I have been considering swapping over to a manual rack, purely for sake of simplicity. I woul...
