I sourced a 130A alternator (NG900, OG9-3, 9-5 unit) to try and make work on my c900. As I posted earlier, my car currently has the stock 80A alternator on it. For comparison's sake I borrowed a 70A c900 alternator from a friend to see what I'd need to 'convert' the 9-3 alternator to work on a c900....

It's been a while, but I figured it's about time for an update here.. I got the car running again a couple of weeks ago. I did measure for resistance through the plug wires, forgot to mention that in the post above. 1. 3500 Ohm 2. 2800 Ohm 3. 2460 Ohm 4. 1800 Ohm I also tested if the spark plug and cable were okay on the side of the road by starting it with the plug out but attached to the cable, I definately saw it s...

Small update; I've got the car sitting at home now, still working through the damage claim with the transporter. The ignition switch only turns between lock and P, I can put it in every gear with no issue and it doesn't lock in reverse anymore. Not sure how they did it, but they managed to break it....

The DIC gets a bad rep for being expensive to replace and going bad all the time, but IMO it's mostly due to age. Any individual coilpack that's 20+ years old and has probably done a few 100k miles is likely to be meh as well. As far as I'm aware, it's good practice to replace all coilpacks if one g...

Car has since been dropped off at a local shop (since AAA wouldn't take it to a home address). When I got the call from the shop that the car had been delivered they also mentioned the transporter had managed to break the ignition switch. So far I really enjoy them! Although it sometimes feels like the valving could be a little better for stiffer springs. I wonder if GAZ would do custom stuff for that if you contacted them. I just ordered 'regular' adjustables through their webshop. Fixed the most annoying door rattle EVER last thurs...

Scored a 9-3 130 amp unit at the ez pull. Toyed with mounting it to a c900 engine. In order to use stock mounting hardware a sleeve will need to be pressed to compensate for the smaller mount bolts.
