Someone posted that the SAABWORKS APC mod gets rid of the knock detection circuit. I haven't looked into it but if that's true then maybe that is part of your knocking problem you're having... There was some talk about this a while ago, and it does remove resistors that are part of the knock detect...

Yeah, it's not a problem as long as you rev-match. First gear gets a bad rap on SAABs, like it's an automatic trans explosion if you mat it. I've never had any problems, as long as you avoid wheel-hop/burnouts.

Uploaded Files

Hi folks, In browsing the site, I have noticed more than a few great uploads that people have done, that would be otherwise unavailable, and that seem to be hosted on this domain. Has anyone considered making a section of the site with links to different manuals/catalogues that have been uploaded? I...

Wow - glad you're ok man, that's no "fender bender!" As to your newer saab question, I've seen a few side impacted 9000's and NG's in the junkyard, and they all looked like they behaved similarly to yours, minus the top of the B-pillar. It's hard to gauge the speed involved, but in all thr...

If it does go bad, you can easily diagnose it by noting that the tach will not move when you crank the engine (no tach signal).

Roughly it depends on your age as to what you are comfortable with, or i should say what you were mainly taught in school, but then you left school and entered the workplace and then realised the older employees used imperial. Yeah I agree - I think most of it comes down to what you can visualize, ...

Sounds like a plan - in regards to the set screws - is threadlocker a no-no on steering shafts for some reason, or is the loosening just that bad? Or maybe just dab a little epoxy on there and then cut through it if/when you need to take it off?

Thanks guys, that actually sounds pretty simple...

Also, it looks like there are suppliers that sell sections of splined steering shaft (I'm assuming one end male, the other female), not sure if they'd be able to go short enough to work, though.
