Re: Looking for one or more wheels ( see photos)

I have MSW's on my '88 convertible. I was given a spare set when I bought the car, then made a deal to sell a set for $250 to a friend of mine. I went down to the basement and there were only three wheels. Turns out the ex took one to the scrap yard for beer money, so I had to locate another one. Bi...

Re: Remember When

I had 8000 pictures on my computer, and thankfully I also had them on saabpics. My hard drive crashed the same time saabpics crashed. Fortunately my friend was able to retrieve the pics and send them to me on a disc.

Re: Remember When

Here's another one I did in about 6 months time - one owner 75EMS with 62k miles - original owner let his drunk girlfriend drive his baby. She wrecked it and was arrested, car was towed. While in impound the whole passenger side was wiped out. Other damage was to the left rear and left front. Owner ...

Re: Ten 99s for sale

It looks like the seats were swapped from a 73 model. The electronic special emblem, brown carpeting, and woodgrain stripe on the door panels are all indications for the EMS. Since they never made a brown EMS, it must have been originally silver.

Re: Ten 99s for sale

The brown back seats in the blue car - good condition? I might be interested if they are in better shape then the ones I have.

Re: Ten 99s for sale

There were only two colors available for the EMS in '74 - sunset orange/indian yellow and sterling silver/silver crystal poly(SK1). What is the paint code under the hood? Other than the soccerball wheels, what other identifying marks make it an EMS? The high back seats in it were used in the '73EMS,...

Re: Ten 99s for sale

I see the white '71 has been upgraded to a 2 liter with d-jet.

The red wagonback has '74EMS seats in it. Any pictures of the back seat?

I viewed Jon's pictures, but didn't see any of the '74 EMS?

Re: Ten 99s for sale

Jon, you know 99's have the same issues as 900's, they are pretty similar. Rotted out shells are one issue, but sun-baked interiors aren't cheap to re-do. Complete engines and trannies are a plus, but in my opinion, seats and door panels in bad shape are a major expense. Good interior parts are a lo...

Re: breaks up @ 3000 rpm's

Good to hear you are making progress. Your speedo might not be accurate - 3500 rpms should be 62mph for the original gearing of a '73 transmission. Later 99 transmissions were like 1 to 2 - 3500rpms would be 70 mph, 4500 would be 90mph, etc. Yours (if original) is 17.7mph for every 1000rpms. I don't...

Re: Brand new Nissens 99 radiator

$200 is a good price. Back in 1993 when me and the GF were barhopping every night, she was behind me in my 99 and I was leading with her pos truck. I stopped for a light and she plowed into me, bending the crap out of the radiator. I took it to a local radiator shop and had it recored for $180, plus...

Someone should tell the kid the proper way to unhook a battery.

Love the "ems" seats. Overall it looks like it has potential.
