Re: Lemons race @ New Hampshire Speedway October 25-27

I just came over to ask Luke how he's feeling and to pour out some Aquavit in memory of Norman, who got a proper Viking funeral at Halloween Hooptiefest last weekend. Didn't get an up close look at the wreckage, but I'm very grateful the impact was on the passenger side. Losing your steering...scary...

Re: what all season tire do the rally drivers recommend?

I'd second the Nokian WR if you need a "one tire does it all" application. When we got our Legacy wagon, we ran the RE92s on it the first winter (bought it new in late November). They were fine. We racked up 20k miles in a year, the tread still looked good. First snow storm...Kara comes ho...

yeah yeah. I know. But figured I'd throw it out there before he makes his next scrap metal run!

set of Incas in southern NH

My friend Chris recently sent a very hail damaged 900T to the scrap yard, but kept the Inca wheels. Not sure if center caps are still there (I think so), no tires on them. I haven't seen them since they were on the car, so not sure if they're totally straight. Car they were on was the beater for a S...

The black 88 XR4Ti with the Cosworth grill and faux minilites.

This is supposed to be a thread about the Schroeder's new kid, not my silly car! Ooops.

So, when do we get pics of the kid in his new custom white Nomex and full face helmet?

Re: The Stig

What kind of Merkur? I'm assuming Xr4ti? (did I get that right?) Yes and yes. A few more evenings of fiddling and it might be really roadworthy. Still needs exhaust, front bumper, headlights, horn, cooling fans, intercooler, and some other odds and ends before I dare take it for a rejection sticker.

Re: The Stig

Wicked Awesome! My son was 9lb. 12oz. He didn't fit either, but 72 hours of contractions, that's crazy! Sleep is for the weak, and as my wife likes to remind me, use your time wisely, which means I should finish typing here and start supper and clean up the garage so I can change the other rear spri...

Re: Do you have problems with the forums?

This forum is slower than a 71 99 towing a Winnebago.

Yeah, something's not right. I don't have a rocketship DSL connection, but this is by far the slowest loading site I frequent.

Re: My first car selling email scam

First National Bank of Nigeria, probably.

Problem is, it can take a few weeks for the paper trail of a bogus check to catch up with the inital "clearing" of the check.

Cash or a local certified check you can immediately take as cash is the way to go.

Re: Aftermath of Rally NY now with pics

Hey, I have TWO subie wagons similar to that. They're slow, but they'll go anywhere. And who the hell can afford a Turbo X?

I'll be curious to hear how the wicked light flywheel is. I think I might hate it trying to tow 3,000 lbs of firewood with my little utility trailer.

Apparently the "shaggin' Waggin'" van concept translated to SAABs for some....

Teardrop windows, side pipes, metal flake paint, wide Uniroyals, wire wheels...too bad there isn't more room for murals!

Good find!

rent to own H&N

Only problem with doing the rental Hans and Franz device is that I think they're all those Hutchins or R3 or whatever devices, which I believe will be NO GOOD in Canada next year. They're going to an FIA approved H&N device and that means Hans or nothing at the moment. So if you were to rent, it...

I think John Cassidy of Last Ditch fame is doing one of these Merc diesel into Land Rover swaps. Worth an email, anyway.

threw in towel

Ted and I gave up after the second section. We were too tired, had gotten too lost too many times, missed several controls and had to just circle around on main roads to both rest stops. We didn't think anything good was going to come of trying to go another 100 miles at 3am on crappy snow tires in ...
