Re: 93F Rally ride

Ok so a small amount of progress... Since i'm going to repaint the car in a few years anyway I thought i'd try my hand at adding some "spots" for numbers. The paint on this car is so bad the masking tape pulls it off when you remove it... frustrating but nothing horrible. http://i1257.phot...

Re: 93F Rally ride

I though wire mesh headlight covers would be cool, along with a hood strap, and i'd heard about Carlsson's mig clock... and then I ran into Turk's article and realized he beat me to it :bawl: I was looking into a repop aluminium bomber type seat i've seen at some car shows in hot rods but I would wa...

Re: Soviet "jeep"

I thought they might be seperate flyoff handbrakes, one for left turns, one for right... Neat project. Looks like it cam out nicer than it would have been new. So do you actually own your namesake? I used to have the Swedish version, that thing was built like a tank! I keep me eyes open for a Fin v...

Re: Soviet "jeep"

Very cool. Are there a lot of them still around? Only 20-30 here in the US, I was the only one who totaly restored one, not just painted it like many do! They are still very popular in europe for off road stuff but they get a bigger engine and tires most of the time for that. The flathead 4 only ma...

93F Rally ride

http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii510/pzkfw1944/Image013-2.jpg OK here we go! I've always wanted a vintage race car so thats where this 93f is headed... The rules 1. No drilling 2. No cutting 3. No alterations that can't be reversed (painting on the already repainted body ok!) 4. Nothing done t...

LOL

Those two levers are for the transfer case, high/low and 2wd/neutral/4wd.

My favorite feature of the vehicle was the big gas powered blow torch you used to preheat the block in winter to start... those russians were some crazy dudes!

Re: Howdy! Noob with a Saab 93f

Yup it was the one Tom had for sale. He had done the mechanical nasty bits and rust repair so it was perfect. The seats are ooogly but not a major issue. I had just finished an eight year frame of resto of a military truck so this seemed like a nice, small, mellow project. :yay:

Re: Howdy! Noob with a Saab 93f

Howdy! Noob with a Saab 93f

Hello! I recently picked up a 1960 Saab 93f and am in the process of educating myself in all ways Saab :yay: Neat little car with lots of fun knobs and levers! I've always had a soft spot for funky vehicles... all we really see at car shows around here are 60's-70's muscle cars painted red, green, b...
