Re: 93' Road Racer Build

I wrapped the manifold, external wastegate, and dp on my '80T last summer. It ended up glowing hot and fried a couple of gaskets. Then with the direct exhaust coming through the holes in the gaskets, the heat wrap dried out and disintegrated. Not sure if it would happen like that on a 16v, but this ...

Re: Mini battery?

That little Deka is just what I'm looking for. Nice price too. I've been running a little drycell for about 3 years now that was made to be a trunk-mount add-on for ricers with huge audio setups. I bought it because I was in a pinch and couldn't find any other traditional batteries that fit the spac...

Re: Another RadioFlyer 1980 c900T

With a heavy heart, I had to pass this one on a couple of weeks ago. We had to move out of our house suddenly, and couldn't take the '80 with us. I made one call, and the car was sold within 10 minutes. Went to a very good home and is already being restored. That very weekend, the new owner had it s...

Mini battery?

Anyone using a mini battery? Thinking about relocating the battery to the drivers side in the '80, and love the thought of a 3" wide Braille or Odyssey racing drycell. Here's a pic of a Braille mounted under the rear seat of a c900. Super clean. Anyone else tried this? I'm thinking about longev...

Re: '91 Monte Carlo SE 'YellowJacket'

Nice results! I agree that the SEM paint was a bit steep, but even after 3 years, mine looks minty fresh. Nice writeup on the SE rear bumper extension mod. Always hoped someone would write that up for that inevitable day when I need to do it too. Nice work, Bill!

Ha. I was just pointing that out to Colette. Talle Reds and Monte Yellows get along great together.

Holy cow, Bill, that turned out great! Wish we lived closer so our twin MCY basketcase resto's could share a stable.

Re: RadioFlyer's 1980 900T

Definitely having fun. We've taken apart a lot of Saabs in there and built and restored a lot of boats. Also grilled a lot of meat. Dad just bought an industrial sewing machine, so that's the new hype - he's making all sorts of cool stuff. Might take a week off at some point to work on some projects...

Thanks Bill! Yep, that's my dad's old mid-50's mahogany Whirlwind. Restored it a couple years ago. Its fast enough to ski!

HATCH SEAL REPAIR The metal on this car has been shockingly clean since I bought it sandblasted in the Oregon desert and had it repainted. I had removed all of the glass and seals from the windows and doors before leaving the car at the painter, and they had agreed to paint or repair all of the edg...

Re: Turbo options on a B engine

That's what I was considering. The H manifold look the same as the B manifolds tho except there is a block off plate where the wastegate pipe would go. Is there any other difference? Turbo port size?
