Re: New Hampshire Lemons race
That thing was awesome, I was running with him for several laps sticking behind him while he would clear a nice line. That was untill the MR2 that was wearing a Vanagon hat crashed into him and put him into a concrete wall...

Re: New Hampshire Lemons race
It was an open diff stock 91+ trans, we had looked at everything very carefully before we put it together and pretty much used the best of what we had to build it. The most annoying part of the failure was absolutely no warning signs, no odd noises, no shifting issues that I experienced. It was work...

Re: New Hampshire Lemons race
I just got home from the race late last night, We had couple tech issues.... Day one was great. I drove first. Very exciting with 115 cars on track initially, Frequent yellow flags & quite a few incidents. Very fun, stressful, and fun, fun and fun. Easily one of the most exciting and funnest thi...

Re: New Hampshire Lemons race
We will have a spare ABS unit in case of this, I am not expecting we'll need it, but most likely it's the original for that car which has well over 200,000 on it. If need be I could have the whole thing swapped in about an hour. Fingers crossed we'll keep our shit together this weekend, and even hav...

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
Just been driving them around... The 88 SPG just keeps ticking along, and aside from tech issues and it eating Denso coil packs now and then, the 10 9-5 just keeps rolling along too. Will break 100,000 in a few weeks. the 10 aero with the VT tuner "stage 0" is only a tig slower than a newf...

These days I am finding one good one for about every 6 classic 900's I am seeing in the junk yard. -

Haha, don't let that become too much of a distraction, not worth it. The OG 9-5 may still have some items in it that will prevent further distraction, be sure to use.
I look forward to seeing future updates to this.

Re: og900 4spd gearbox ???'s
I just picked up a G44502 from a 79 900-T today with the help of Gary, most likely I'll be using the components from this to repair my again busted Jorgen Eriksson trans. Found some pics from the 1st time.- http://www.saablink.net/forum/performance-modifications-classic-900/45208.htm This time, the ...

Re: Exhausts, cat converters and me
Federal law says you can't sell used cats (you can't buy them at the junk yards) - so if your OE unit is still in salvageable condition and you want to keep the cat converter, or need to for inspection purposes you should do as Jordan says. Cut the bolts off with an angle grinder, and then blow them...

Anyone up for a PA junk yard run?
So, there are a couple classic 900's around local yards currently. Not exactly a "large number" of them, however there are some nice parts out there. At the Joes E-Z pull there are currently 2, 4 door 900's, one a 2.1 MT and a smattering of 9-3's and 9-5's. At the Harrys U pull it in Penns...

Re: The New Norman
Yeah, inter-cooler cost is impressively low. I think the stock Saab blackstone cooler is like $700 new, and an aftermarket all aluminum one that's 3X the size is about $100. Figure that one out... That's truly a "why not" question. Part of our intercooler hose pop-off issue was that initia...
