She liked it because it was quiet, didn't smell, and she didn't have to use a hand-crank to start it.

Re: 1978 99 Turbo Driving and Ownership Impressions

Great post. Even the non-turbos have a lot of what you feel in your 78 99T. The 900s are definitely more refined in quite a few ways, but the 99s are special cars. I'd love to get a rear 74-76 combi bumper like you have there.

Re: Fuel tank overflow hose grommet

Anyone have a good spare they could sell me for my 77? or a good link at McMaster-Carr for a replacement grommet? I don't mind modifying it as long as it works.

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

I imagine at this point any 99 is going to be a big to major restoration at this point, no matter how well it was stored.

I have this same problem myself (gas smell filling the cabin). I'd like to get a good part sourced as well.

Re: WTB: NOS Combi tail lights, 74-76 combi bumper or steelb

There is a guy in the Netherlands who is trying to make new ones for around 89 euros each at saabworld.nl
The last I hear a few months ago they were still working on it.

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

The pre-production car is alone is worth the $1500... the other two could be used for parts to get it restored. Someone here really ought to take it up as you'd definitely be saving a valuable car.

Re: SOC 2014 Redmond OR

I'm not sure what the schedule is, but I'd likely drive down Friday morning and leave Sunday. There is also the 5 day 625 mile coastal 'pre-tour' which starts the Saturday before. NWSOC has a bit of a camping / trailer (trail-or-boat too) tradition. CombiCoupe bedding is optional.
