Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

This is an interesting car which is for sale locally in Hungary, but for an insane price given the condition of the car (about USD 8500). I read about these - special edition 900 i (non-turbo) for the Swiss market, which came from the dealer with full extras. I can't tell if the leather interior is ...

Re: C900 SPG Purchase - Possible Fiasco

So I went over the car again with my Indy Saab specialist Thursday last week - the owner of the garage who is the main C900 expert/nut at my indy garage was on vacation when I purchased the car, so this is the first time we went over the car together. My C900 guru greatly put my mind at ease. As to ...

Help Needed - K Jetronic Fuel Distributor for 1978 99 Turbo

Hello Everyone - I need your help with my 1978 99 Turbo. My indy Saab mechanic says that the K Jetronic fuel distributor on my car is on its last legs and ideally would need to be replaced. It appears that the head on my car is not the original unit for Saab, but perhaps off another vehicle which us...

Saab 9000 Aero Build

I am starting a build thread on my 1997 Saab 9000 Aero. I purchased the car in May 2012, and have done a large amount of work on it since then. I will be posting over the next several weeks a description of the work I have done in stages. The following is the history on the car: - The car was purcha...

Re: RadioFlyer's 1980 900T

Love the turbo sticker on your car Sam. Suits it perfectly! My understanding is that these were also originally sold for installation on early 900s in the late 70s (not that this would have made any difference with respect to the coolness of your car). Your blue car is one of my favorites as is this...

Re: C900 Rotting Wiring Loom - Advice Needed

Thanks everyone - this has been incredibly helpful. So I suppose the consensus is (i) the damage should be isolated to the engine bay and the driver's door and (ii) best is to try to fix what is there rather than replace with a later model harness and (iii) the Jetronic harness can be removed and re...

Re: The New Norman

Love it! What are your experiences with the Willwood calipers? I have been thinking of these for my 9000 Aero - with the upgraded power (close to 300), would be good to have upgraded brakes. There is a seller on Ebay who has these for sale as part of a whole front brake kit for the 9000 at a reasona...

Beautiful 1980 Saab 99 Turbo for sale in Sweden. Pricey, but looks to be worth it: http://www.blocket.se/vastmanland/Saab_99_Turbo_55038938.htm?ca=3&w=3 Something about the 1980 99 Turbos which is incredibly cool. Especially with go faster stripes on the side. At the same time makes one feel a l...

Re: C900 Rotting Wiring Loom - Advice Needed

Thanks Crazyswede. So what should I do? Take out the loom and look at what's rotten, and just try to replace the rotten sections? Or should I try to have a completely new loom built? What do people normally do when faced with this issue? There must have been close to 150,000 Saab C900s with this iss...

Re: C900 Rotting Wiring Loom - Advice Needed

By the way, I have been doing a little research, and it seems that the 1986 wiring loom is the same as the 1985, but was made of better wiring and did not suffer from the dry rot issue. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have a good wiring loom from a 1986 16V turbo tha they would be willing to se...

C900 Rotting Wiring Loom - Advice Needed

Hello Everyone, I have a 1985 Saab 900 SPG with the typical mid 80s wiring loom rot. It is pretty bad in many places. Of course this is due to the failed experiment of Saab trying to be green by using soya in their wiring loom coating. Question is, what is the best way to deal with this? Should I pu...

Re: Turbo options on a B engine

This discussion breaks my heart - so few B engine turbos out there, why ruin the originality? The large external waste gate is such a wild design. I have a 99 Turbo with the same basic engine, and the large external wastegate gives the engine/turbo such a unique sound. Like a high speed tornado ripp...

Re: C900 SPG Purchase - Possible Fiasco

Am starting to collect parts for the SPG....just scored the steering wheel on the right for the car. I remember the first time I visited the Saab garage in the town where I grew up, there was a fully decked out flat nose 9000 T16S (with airflow kit) sporting this steering wheel. Am really reliving c...

WANTED: Period Radio for 1985 900 SPG

I am looking for a period radio which a 1985 Saab 900 SPG/T16S either would have come with from the factory, or which a loving owner would have purchased at the time for her/his newly acquired SPG. Am not looking to spend crazy money, but am not cheap either. Very important to me that it be period c...

Re: C900 SPG Purchase - Possible Fiasco

I went back to my indy to take a look at the car again, and felt a lot better about the car generally. The outer panels all seem to be in great shape and rust free (other than a little rust on the door bottoms. Problem is that he has too many projects at the moment, and looks like it will be a while...
