Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
Looks good! How many times have you spun the engine around? I'd probably be cranking the handle going "wheee!" What is this car? Is it the white one you were rallycrossing? WhiteCar.jpg One of my co-workers built a bike stand the other day. The complete opposite end of the spectrum! BikeSt...

Re: Frankensaab , The '78 99L
Regarding inner driver failures, a few years ago Team RallyHo had ended up with an inner driver failure. We came over a crest, the car compressed hard and there must have been a big rock on the road because we suddenly felt a large jolt from below. The engine shifted (bent the sheet metal engine mou...

Re: C900 gearbox girdle
What is the installation process with this? I'm guessing: Set the backlash/shim the driver cups -> install/tighten girdle to driver cup -> tighten rear cover bolts? Are the bolt holes for the rear cover large enough to allow for the rear cover to move side-side a little to allow for different driver...

Re: THE DARK SIDE....
Sweet motor! 160 hp in that should be fun. The mk1 and mk3 goofs that I used to codrive in had the diesel all engine with some tweets. Not much hp but over 300ft-lb. They would...accelerate. then once you hit 4k it was time to shift!
Have you added any lightness to the car?

1) Nice license plate :P 2) That event in Ireland looks fun 3) That rally school in Ireland looks fun 4) Interesting that the Lancer was sold in the UK by the Colt Car Company using the "Colt" name. Lancers, Mirages, and Galants were sold in the US as Dodge Colts from the early '70s to the...

Re: Introduction & Project thread! 1989 900 T8 Special DD
I had a B202 once where the #3 valve burned out. It ran on 3 cylinders. I seem to remember the plug being wet due to lack of compression/firing...

Re: Upgrade inner driver cups
Nice! Does ScanWest still have these? Any idea if they have them for the older/smaller tripods? We spit out a driveshaft at NEFR last year. The tripod got all chewed up. Upon replacement, Mike found that the replacement inner driver was 10mm longer (cup length) than the one that was in the car. I do...

Re: Bespoke Intake Manifold B202
Nice work so far Dennis! It looks tight in the pictures but I'm sure that when you get the stock stuff out the new stuff will have some good space. In the past I've thought about 3D printing intake manifolds as well. I did a quick search around the 'web' and came across some chat from some folks who...

Neat, I didn't know anything about the '89 T8 Special model until now. Thanks for sharing!

In the US we didn't get any of the Ox Blood dashboards except for on a few 1984 SPG/AERO prototype cars

Pretty awesome, Dennis!
What are you using for formulae, software, design guidance, etc. to plan out runner lengths, plenum volumes, etc?

Re: Replacement/Upgraded Shift Coupler - Goodbye Taper Pins
Stock on a 99 is u-joint like this with taper pins on both ends.
How much have you used this? I'm curious how well the set screw holds in place. Do you run the set screw into the taper pin hole?

Re: Twin Scroll Turbo
I like the additional mad scientist vibe the coiled tubing gives.
I had to do something like that at work and used some sleeves made out of coiled wire that help support the tube to prevent kinking. They worked pretty well. McMaster # 2420A17
