Re: Wanted - C900 5-speed steel diff cover

Correct, I have a late 5-speed with no factory drain, so even though the plug on the cover isn't quite as low you still get almost everything out.

Squaab (Dennis), I'm not in a super hurry, if you're doing a run I will happily wait for one with both ports so I can hook a cooler up later as well.

Wanted - C900 5-speed steel diff cover

Does anyone have one to sell (or trade?)

I need to change the gearbox oil in my car and would like to put a steel cover on with a drain plug while I have it apart - pulling the cover off every time I need to change the fluid makes me avoid changing the fluid....

Re: Replacement/Upgraded Shift Coupler - Goodbye Taper Pins

...But how will the future generations know the pain of having an engine removal take 2 days longer than anticipated because you couldn't get any angle or leverage to get the taper pin out of the gearbox while laying in a puddle of coolant and gloppy CV joint grease?

Re: Car Control

All 5 of Carroll Smith's "To Win" series are excellent, although there's only driving info in "Prepare," "Tune," "Drive," and some in "Engineer." These are easy to read, and entertaining if you're the somewhat sarcastic type. There's also The Techniq...

Re: Car Control

Karting school, read a few driving instruction books, and playing around in big empty parking lots in the snow mostly. Every time I get a chance at an auto or rallycross to get an instructor to ride along I take the opportunity and try to pay attention to what they have to say, although I definitely...

eEuro still has their kit listed, but the flywheel shows maybe not currently in stock, would be worth calling: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/61907/Ultimate-Trionic-5-Conversion-Kit-T5-C900-101K10134/ That guy MikeD was making pickup wheel adapters to go on the crank pulley a while ago, as was Squ...

Re: Winter Tires

I have a set of brand new (or nearly brand new) Green Diamond Icelanders mounted to a set of 16" wheels that will fit NG900, 9-3, and 9-5 that I would sell cheap (like $100 or less + shipping) if anyone is interested in them. I had them as a spare set when I still have my 9-5 and have no use fo...

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Hasn't run since 1986, so it most likely needs everything fuel injection and engine related replaced. They say it looks like there's no water in the oil, but I haven't seen a B motor that's sat that long with any coolant left in it at all that wasn't all rusted up around the jackshaft drive for the ...

Anyone know about this? It looks surprisingly clean coming from New York, must have been inside for sure.

McMaster or some race shops carry stuff for the spherical bearings too, like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fkb-10-8hb?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-fk-rod-ends&gclid=Cj0KCQjwl9zdBRDgARIsAL5Nyn1klY-1KyBsLSnWoZdHbZR16IkAsV7emAflAZbE1K8srRjO7F8fITIaAlZLEALw_wcB ...

Re: Weird Electrical Gremlins

I do not envy you. Mine does all kinds of weird things when it's really rainy, especially with the central locking actuators and the wipers. Since I live somewhere that's very dry, I have not had motivation to investigate further. I mostly saw weird things with the wrong bulbs in the sedan/convertib...

Re: This weekend's junkyard run

Nice! I haven't had to hit my local yard this year yet, my stockpile is probably a little too large for my needs now. I've only got my one 900 left, and it hasn't really had anything break or need much maintenance the past few years. Probably coincides with me not rally or autocrossing it much in th...

Re: 9-3 Oil Pan Help

Do you have an engine hoist, or a strut tower engine support bar? It's not much more work to detach more of the subframe bolts and drop the whole thing down a bit if you can support the engine from the top. You could also put a hoist on the engine from the top, unbolt the engine mounts, and raise th...
