Re: 90 Talladega SPG

Surprisingly easy fix for the gauges, I thought I threw this DIN cage thing out in the great parts purge but I found it in a box of misc stuff. A combination of bending the tabs around the gauges and a well placed zip tie and we're in business and the gauges are staying put... https://c5.staticflick...

Re: 90 Talladega SPG

I should really know to disconnect the battery when I do this job as I've done it a handful of times, but without fail I forget and blow the fuse for the radio power when soldering in the new harness. Oh well, I had just stolen the same fuse getting rid of my 9-5's DRL so now I have radio and gauges...

Re: PIKES PEAK IN A 99 TURBO......?

I should wait to see if gmreider weighs in, since unlike me he actually knows what he's talking about  But he has tried a lot of different combinations of pistons and bore sizes so he may be able to give you an idea of what works well on the track and what doesn't. If I am remembering correctly...

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Man that really sucks to hear, thieves are the worst  It does seem like 900s get stolen at a higher rate out in the PNW, maybe just because there are more of them still around. I've had mine broken into twice but thankfully only ever had cd's and radios stolen, never the whole thing. Hop...

Re: 90 Talladega SPG

Thanks guys! Wiring the power and ground for the gauges, as you all probably know, is sort of a pain because theres a lot of wires that need to feed down to one that goes into the power, in my case from the radio. When building guitar amps we use little terminal strips to distribute power but it see...

Re: Other Hobbies / Interests

New Vintage Amp Day... This one is an old Fender Princeton Reverb, a very famous amp thats been recorded thousands of times from Jazz to Country to Rock and Roll. This one was a bit of a basketcase but I changed out a lot of the capacitors and resistors to proper spec and changed the circuit a bit t...

New Rally Wagon

I know there isn't a ton of love for the newer Saabs around these parts but I figured you guys may enjoy... Having hit 180k miles my 9-3 was starting to have a handful of little things creep up so I decided to start looking for a low(er) mileage 9-5 while they still exist and found this at a nearby ...

Re: 90 Talladega SPG

Well although real PA winters seem to be a thing of the past, with the dropping temps I decided to put the 15" wheels on the car and sort of get it ready to be put away for the winter. I'll still drive it around until we get salt on the roads but the sticky tires on the 16's feel all sorts of f...

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Most of us have probably come up with a solution to the dreaded crank pulley removal already, but here is the official tool for it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAAB-900-TOOL-FOR-R-R-FRONT-PULLEY-BOLT-OE-TOOL-8392961-/112166916589?hash=item1a1dab51ed:g:sEAAAOSw-CpYAPlb&item=112166916589&vxp=mtr h...

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero

That definitely sounds like a good solution, even better if they offer some sort of warranty on the engine, but theres definitely a lot of value in just having it done right the first time. Hope you can get it back together in short order, I've been driving my 900 this week as the weather turns cool...

Re: PA Junkyard Run?

I always feel like I'm talking to myself on this forum  Anyway, if anyone is interested in a meet up or just needs some parts I stopped by Greble Scrap Yard today because its a little closer to me than Joe's EZ Pull where we had gone to before, and was somewhat surprised by the amount of Saabs ...

Re: PA Junkyard Run?

Well due to the overwhelming response

I think I may go somewhere this weekend to grab a cd changer harness for my 9-5 so I'll scope out if there is anything of interest if we wanted to do something this fall.
