Re: SAAB Classic 900 Sport exhaust double tip tail pipes
last reaction was in december. Nevel got any track and trace. He told be exhaust were sended back to him and he would sent them again to me. he does not react on his cell phone nor on mail. During the covid time i don't want to stress up these things , but after one and a half year i think i should...

Re: copart
I never have but I think I've heard stories. As I recall Copart is more like a collector of car auctions and cars could be located at a shop or a big auction site or in some overgrown field. Basically I think Copart is a be careful kind of buying experience.

Re: 900 rear Upper Spring Supports
its not a common area that I've seen rust problems in and its for a spring where the impulse forces are low. I'd just cut out the rust and corrosion and weld in some new solid metal and seal it and should be good.

Re: Saab 96/Miata build
Does anyone know where these rubber bumpers go? I had them bagged and tagged as "Hood-center front" but I can't find a place for them to go. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f357/68017/Mobile%20Uploads/20150419_160431_resized_1_zps9921c080.jpg They look like rubber bump stops but not sure.

Re: Saab 96/Miata build
I see you already solved the tire clearance probem...but many years ago I got to drive a modded 96 on the track. That car was running wider tires and my recollection is that the owner had simply spaced the rear fenders out from the body to clear. Your solution looks nicer though.

Re: Rally Suspension project
For rally that design has a tendency to bend the upper ball joints.

Re: Rally Suspension project
The spring slider I got was made by Howe racing and I think its been discontinued. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Howe-Racing-Enterprises-30254-Linear-Bearing-Coil-Spring-Slider,2175.html Here is a new one though: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Coil-Spring-Slider-for-5-Inch-Spring,2174.html

Re: Rally Suspension project
I think Luke originally ran SPG springs front and rear. MSS aluminum spacers in the front and the SAS poly spacers in the rear. It worked well for everything except for big jumps where it often bottomed out.

Re: Rally Suspension project
No didn’t finish. Whole car is waiting patiently. Was trying to design a bracket for the upper a arm so that the spring slider lower mount was as low as possible. So that the upper mount didn’t need some crazy tower for mounting. Then it could be a much easier install, allow for more spring options,...

Re: Rally Suspension project
I got excited when I found d the spring sliders because it seemed like a way to more easily run coil over springs without having to go crazy on the shocks

Re: Rally Suspension project
Luke did some calcs a few years ago and found these springs were pretty much the same as the S&R springs with one coil cut off. I forget if I cut one or two off https://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/moog-cc653 At the time I think I got a pair of them from Rockauto for $57/pair. These were the re...

Re: Rally Suspension project
I think the springs in my notchback road car are overload coils in the rear and some trimmed Buick springs in the front. Never been in a rally car but seemed like they would work well.

Re: Rally Suspension project
If you have some weights for a gym set you could hang them off a lever arm and just record the spring deflection.it’s crude but should be close enough.
