it was real easy to do the swap on mine, but it was on the workbench, with no clutch or throwout bearing in the way. on the 5 speed the bottom cogs big nut, which has a built in washer type arrangement is tabbed into holes in the gear...just peened over into them. on the 4 speed primary bottom cog y...

yea, i stole lukes extra set...that gearbox will be ready to go in the car in a few weekends. im taking my time these days. i also had to use the chains from a 4 speed box with the 31-30 setup. they have a couple more links than the 5 speed chains do. ive seen references to this mod that don't menti...

intake runner length makes a sizeable difference in power...my experience has shown that it is about as important as header tube length....just thinkin out loud, myself.

Per there are going to be about 1500 of us there...i think that you guys will be alright. the west virginia faction of this group works on anything with a saabrally.com sticker on it....within reason.

crazyswede, i would say that you are spot on, but there are regional differences...in the mid-atlantic region(West Virginia)for example the aluminum wing, aftermarket taillight setup is stage one. i think its good for about three hundred.......

damnit, when i rewired the engine compartment in the rally car i put all of the wires where i can SEE 'em. and i didn't chrome anything. i'll never be one of the cool kids.
