Re: Strongest Gearbox Possible
about cncing a case. If it could be made thicker it might be a good idea. How about strengthing a case all ready produced? Cast aluminum offers some advantage as to billet and with the right stuff creates a stronger but less ductile case. Then there is chill casting, aging the alum chemically to ind...

Re: Strongest Gearbox Possible
The idea of a strong gear case, coupled with a stronger gearing would be the best. But, since neither exist, next best thing would be to adapt something. We all no the common failure points. Wouldn't it make sense to figure out which other gear MFG's might have something that is close? I mean close ...

As to the clutch pressure plate retainers there are 2 thicknesses and 2 diameters. A larg...

Re: Gripper Limited Slip Technical Thread
I use mine on the street just about everyday, and I have to say it rocks. Only time there is a problem is when you are trying to hook up when you have one tire in the dirt (snow, sand ,etc) and one on the pavement. The one on the slippery stuff doesn't do much but the one on the pavement does it's b...

Re: Gripper Limited Slip Technical Thread
Hello, I have emailed Tom and asked for 30 washers. Luke asked that I give Tom Lukes address so the stuff could be shipped to Lukes since he needed the out drivers asap.
I haven't heard back yet. I'll give you guys the update once I hear anything.

Re: Gripper Limited Slip Technical Thread
Supposedly they changed vendors/manufactures. Not sure if they are going to be better or not.
So, what should I tell Tom as for number of replacements?

Re: Strongest Gearbox Possible
Huh, after all this and like 20+ years of guessing this and that. I'd be game for some R&D. I've actually lowered the HP on Rosie simply because 1-2 gear boxes a year gets old quick. I'm now on month 16 on the same gear box. MY89. I ended up getting a 2000 Audi A4Quattro for 900.00 to snag the d...

Re: Gripper Limited Slip Technical Thread

I emailed Tom about the broken bevel washers and he said they have changed suppliers and was hoping to see a pictures o...
