Balljoint Compatibility

Are the balljoints for a '73 the same as the '75 and later style that goes all the way through to the 900's? I have not been able to find out for sure, and need at least one for my '73 LE, and don't think I have the ability to do a complete 900 swap in the 10 days I am home for Christmas. Just looki...

FS: '76 3-door GL in Wisconsin

Hey all, This kid has been trying to sell this since the beginning of the summer, and the price has gone down steadily. He used to have a little explanation of why the driver's door and fender were re-painted, and it was nothing major, but can't remember the exact circumstances. It's up in northern ...

Re: For Trade: Uncracked C900 Dash for S&R Jacket or Shelbys

FYI Per, the proceeds from selling this if I don't make a successful trade may well go towards one of your sets of Shelbys for sale.

Best,
Drew

For Trade: Uncracked C900 Dash for S&R Jacket or Shelbys

I'm pretty sure this is not the sort of thing most of you are interested in, but trying to get the word out. If I don't get any takers in the next week I will put it on eBay, barring a good offer. Forgive the wordiness, I want to try to be as thorough as possible on the first go. If you are within a...

Dave Kennedy (formerly Group9) did mine, took about 7.5 pounds off the stock flywheel, and balanced, and re-did the dowel pins to take the 9" 9000 clutch for something like $180? He trolls around on Saabnet most of the time, you can find his e-mail address or his phone number somewhere. Best, D...

According to this: (My VIN is 99 73 20 28933) http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/models/1969-7399.jpg ...it has the 2.0 litre engine, and according to here: http://www.saabnet.ru/org/saab_vin.htm#Saab99 the '20' build code means she was made in Sweden. It looks like all '73 model years had the Saab designed...

Jennifer, you said that you had some delrin? I could machine up a set of bushings if you sent me the material (in all my free time as an engineering undergrad) since I have 24 hour machine shop access at school, if someone else was interested in contributing some polyurethane to do a side by side. O...

Good points, on the Russel fittings, Russel makes a line of hose ends and fittings that are their "Endura" finish, which I am almost positive are actually steel ends, and not aluminum ones, and hold up better to being loosened and tightened repeatedly, rather than the anodized aluminum one...

Ok, taking photos of the VIN have certainly paid off! I thought that it looked suspiciously familiar to the engine in my Dad's (in a better place now [the car, not Dad]) '82 900T. Checked out the car a little more today, and I am almost positive it is the chain driven primaries, rather than the gear...

In browsing through 99 boards last night I came across a passing comment that the earlier 99 shells were not as strong as the later ones, because of down-the-model-line structural improvements, can anyone shed light on what if any truth there is to that? It does have the Triumph engine. The mechanic...

Thanks DeLorean! That would also make a lot of sense from the standpoint that we are already intimately familiar with the 900's. I did not really get into that around where we live there are much more rally cross competitions, as opposed to staged rallies, which we would probably not be entering any...

Potential '73 99 LE Rally Car(?)

My brother and I were both pleasantly surprised with the level of sophistication and the amount of knowledge on this board, and have come to the conclusion that the easiest and least expensive way to get a competitive package with a Saab is by rallying (which I am sure most of you know). We have bee...
