Going to the eeuroparts swap?
I have the reverse light, nos.
I was talking to someone who has the tail lights, nos, he was thinking about bringing them to the swap.

It was an autocross car at one point...
Yes, and DSP99t put shorter springs on before he sold it to me. That probably put the camber further negative.

Re: 78 Turbo Refresh
I'll probably do that fuse mod this summer. Garry's car has it as well. Very discrete for originality.

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
Not exactly what you're looking for, and I don't know what sort of max HP you're looking for, but you could have it for essentially shipping if you are interested. Thanks for the offer. The 6.5" height is a deal breaker though. Close but no cigar. The search continues! ??? Have you given us a ...

Re: 78 Turbo Refresh
Last time I forgot to mention Geoff who come through like a wizard for me on some non blistered interior panels! So those went in as well before I set out west. I planned to give myself 7 days to drive from Rhode Island to Redmond OR. The morning of my departure I had a few things to wrap up on the ...

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
Has anyone seen a comparison of cardboard to aluminum heat transfer? It is an odd size, especially for aftermarket. Interestingly, I keep finding OEM sizes that are very close. :yay: The trouble is its hard to find the dimensions of OE or even OE upgrade intercoolers. The sites just list the ...

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
I built a mock up of an 18" long x 5.5" tall x 3.5" deep intercooler. Hopefully I can find a core with similar dimensions, if not, one that is taller which can easily be cut down. The end caps will have to be customized anyway.

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
I had heard about that 900 with the chopped rad and 944 IC. I did some cutting and measuring today. The 78 99 turbo air dam sits very close to the body. Unfortunately the 944 unit is a perfect fit in every dimension except depth. I think the ideal intercooler for my application would be 18-15" ...

Re: 78 Turbo Refresh
Another snow day gives me time to write another update from the past. After the Candian Owners Convention I took a detour on my way home and stopped by Gary Stottler outside Rochester NY. We drove each other's 99Ts which made for an interesting comparison. His car has a completly renovated suspensio...

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
Yes, as I said, I made a mock up. It would fit well behind the 99 turbo air dam. The "hull" area on my car needs to be re constructed due to rust issues. I plan on boxing it off, not recreating the slope. The 99 does have limited space that is why I would like to put te IC lower, below the...

Re: Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
Anyone know of a reason not to use the 944 unit? It would package very well.
I was digging around the web and forums this article with an evaluation of various stock intercoolers.

Thoughts on 944 intercooler?
I have my eye on using Porsche 944 intercooler on my 99 hot rod. I've made a mock up and I think it will work well right behind the 99 turbo air dam.
Thoughts on this unit?
My concern is that it will cause lag, but I'm no expert.
The inlet/outlet diameters are 2 3/8".
My turbo is a gt28rs.

Re: 78 Turbo Refresh
Looks great, the re-dye on the carpet looks to have turned out pretty well. Some day we need to get my silver one, the gray one, this car and someone with a blac one together for a photo shoot... Carlisle, this summer! Hopefully, Garry S. will be there with his black car. It would be cool to have t...

Re: 78 Turbo Refresh
I kinda fell off updates here. Get ready for a montage. I cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the fuel pump (sounded like a baby rattle), accumulator (wrapt) fuel filter, WUR and fuel distributor (the previous owner had already done the dist but it was either not good or got clogged by the upstream comp...
