Ok, so I tore down the tranny I was planning to use for the LSD in my 99. Now, according to the s/n on the side of the box, it should be an 86-87 model, but there is a twist. It has a hydraulic front mount type front cover and when I pulled it, it has a bearing supporting the lower chain sprocket th...

Trans cooler pump?
With the addition of the new Quaife, I think it's time to install a tranny oil cooler. The lines will be custom (easy) and the cooler can be an old 900 oil cooler (easy), but what to use for the pump? What has been used in the past? Any thoughts?

What do you think of welding a panel of aluminum between the rt bearing cap assy and the side access cover? Weld it right to the stiffening ribs. This would give an effective increase of an inch or so in the area that needs it most while adding minimal weight... And/Or, how about directly welding/bo...

That cradle is interesting, but I can't see how it would be much of an improvement over a steel Diff cover. The strength should added forward of the diff bearings, particularly on the rt side of the case. Maybe weld an aluminum plate to the ribs between the diff cap and side cover?? I may actually t...

Thanks for the help on this Luke!
How long did it take for you get your flares? I'd like to have them by early June so I can have them mounted in time for the Freezeout Hillclimb. If I can have the car ready to race by this event in mid-June, I'll have 6 weeks to tune the car for the SOC in August...

That's about the number I remember. Was there any other payment option? CC? Maybe with a large enough order he'd join paypal. With the Quaife group buy, one guy used his CC to pay for it all and we are each paying him. It would be nice to get 5-10 sets. It would aso be good to get a set to sacrifice...

We'd have to figure out payment and all that. I was trying to convince him to setup a paypal account but he didnt seem to want to do it. How did you pay him last time? How expensive was the set you have, less shipping? I have to finish paying for the 2 LSD's I ordered, so I can do flares or Wilwood...

Group buy on flares?
So, after seeing the pics of Luke's flares, I've decided I really need a set on my Hillclimber, Frankensaab. They would help the 0" offset 7" wheels I use not look so goofy.
Any interest in a group buy? I really want a set on the car before the Con in August...
