Re: Ducktail spoiler 99/900 hatch
Looks pretty good on a 99 sedan. I'd take one.

So you built a pretty nice exhaust manifold. Maybe you could build a nice intake manifold to help reduce that delta...

Re: front hubs
Do you just need the hub or the whole spindle?
I might have a spare hub that I pressed out of a spindle when changing to a vented setup.

Are those the cars that were in Groton, MA? If it were me, I'd use a lot of the underpinnings from the '86 900 simply for serviceability and parts availability. Rear axle: Nice because you can use the 900 rear shocks (sounds like you have some Bilsteins). It is also a little bit wider If you put in ...

Re: Sleepy Gulch
The EPA ratings seem to differ from real world MPG. Between my wife and I we've had 3 Mini base models (2010, 2011, 2012) all of which are rated 29/36 mpg by the EPA test standards (1.6L 4cyl, 6spd manual). In the winter, with studded snows, and driving like a jerk I can get the MPG down to 35-36. I...

Re: C900 gearbox girdle
Nice mockups! This is one of those projects that bounce around my head from time to time. The base geometries, many bolt holes, lack of published dimensions, adjustability needed at the diff carrier, and ability to fit around other parts of the car add up to an interesting challenge. John's comment ...

Wow, awesome you got it back! Couldn't get the cops to take the syringes as evidence?
So, how about mounting a gas grille starter in the door handles?

I seem to remember early 9000 Quaifes being really cheap at one point - maybe 1/2 the price of a C900 Quaife? Anyway, I got curious and found what Jordan said he did to get the early 9000 diff into the C900 http://saabrally.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2099&p=41207&hilit=quaife#p41207

There are a few things you could do (in theory) to adjust roll center.
There's a good simulator here:
http://www.vsusp.com/
If you get all the dimensions for a 99, make sure to share

I've also had good luck with the 518 on the stock cork gaskets. Just remember to tighten them lightly. Tightening too hard bends the sheet metal into the cork, causing leaks.

There was a recall on the bolts having to do with the potential for corrosion when switching between steel and aluminum wheels. The fix was those bolts. https://www.cars.com/recalls/saab-9_5-1999/ (seems like this could be an "issue" with any car...) I always thought that those bolts might...

BaT has 5 vintage cars for sale from the Perry collection out in CA. Nice looking cars, but seems the prices for these just hasn't taken off like some other brands. Seems like it has... $102,550 for five old SAABs?!? http://bringatrailer.com/2016/11/06/bat-auctions-presents-the-paul-perry-saab-coll...

Re: Chain Drive Tensioner material
I looked around for a spare 30:31 chain tensioner for you but didn't find any. You may need to build new 'feet'(?). I would suggest sticking with a normal chain tensioner/guide material. You don't know how some interesting-sounding material may behave. (i.e. kevlar filled nylon might hold up well bu...
