Great community here
There is a great community here that is more interested in keeping these cars on the road by helping fellow members rather than being concerned with any sort of monetary gain. Most of you probably already knew that though. I bought a glove box door from a member on here paid and with a check. I thou...

Re: Euro sytle trailer hitch
Yes, as Mezzanine said, that's the right receiver.
Fellow forum member ajagodnik was nice enough to send me a receiver & tool for the price of shipping. It's in better condition than the one on eBay. Thank you to him!

Re: gear kits
I don't think I'd want to daily drive a straight cut gearbox car. Lots of noise tends to come out of straight cut gears. Think of that wirring sound that reverse makes and now think about that sound in your ears all day at 75 mph on the highway. What about running this gearset in a 5 speed box? The...

Re: Best Location for IAT Sensor
I'm running some aftermarket pipes that Jak Stoll supposedly made. They are actually aluminized steel, so I was able to mig weld it. If I recall correctly the IAT sensor is fine thread. 8mm x 1.25 pitch rather than 1.5 mm thread pitch. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa139/njames85/T5%20Install/I...

Euro sytle trailer hitch
Not really race related but I ran across this hitch at a U-pull yard the other day. I thought the only OEM hitch available was the square tube type without a removable receiver. The only information I could find on this one is that it an European type because the round receiver was much more common ...

Re: Twin Scroll Turbo
I was going to ask if you were going to run pyrometer(s) but you beat me to it. I was wondering if you were going to run individual pyrometers for each cylinder or just one in the collector. It would be interesting to see the differences between the cylinders but I suppose you could infer the same s...

What's up with the Red Bull can? Trying to give your Saab wings?
Seriously though, it looks like you're using it as a heat shield?
Your work is phenomenal as always.

Re: HVAC foam replacement
I finally found a suitable material on the McMaster-Carr website. Should be better than the original material. From their website: "Also known as polysiloxane, this material maintains its flexibility across a very wide temperature range and is a good electrical insulator." Color: Orange-ta...

Re: Odometer Repair - 'new' style from a '90
Thanks the the post. I ended up breaking the needle while trying to pull try it up. With the broken pieces, I noticed that I should have been prying to the very outside of the needle as there is a tiny brass hub on top of the shaft that is the diameter of the hole in the face plate. I don't understa...

HVAC foam replacement
I found myself a decent dash pad that has only a few minor cracks in it for my c900. I'll be replacing the blower motor and fixing the vacuum leak I have in the air distributor switch while the dash is apart. I've had the dash torn apart before and noticed that the 30 year foam that seals the variou...

Phenomenal work as always!
What size wastegates are you going to use? Looks like 2" piping.
What is your next project going to be? Some sort of crazy compound turbo setup?

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
Is that a temperature probe? Yes, sending unit to an in cabin gauge. I manually switch on the trans cooler pump when she starts getting hot. I could tap off it to feed signal to the ECU and that would command off and on of the pump. For now I simply monitor it. What temperatures are you seeing? I i...

Re: Mini battery?
I run a group D51 in the trunk of my c900. 450 CCA which is fine for a 3 season car. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa139/njames85/NewBattery/NewBattery11.jpg I've since covered the box with OEM carpet from a junkyard car. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa139/njames85/NewBattery/NewBattery7....
