Yeah, thats the worst one, the other 3 are pretty good. You can actually still get replacement lips apparently, but they're like $200 each :-O .

Re: 75 99 ITB racer

I only mounted one of the slicks, I think im gonna put them on the wheels that it came with, the odd 5 spoke turbine ones, and then use the 3-piece for a more street oriented tire since they're more blingy and whatnot, even though they're all beat.

The seat! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-05OeXF_Qlng/UyySif5-lbI/AAAAAAAADmI/up3BIbtoOsw/w649-h865-no/IMG_20140321_150914.jpg The aluminum brackets available from Bimarco, kinda weird, but you can flip all the pieces around and get all different mounting options, which is handy. https://lh5.goog...

Re:

I did the thought process briefly on how they worked but just thought it should be okay though with the 80 degree angle on the bottom I wasn't sure how the pin would be loaded to shift power over to the other tire since it would be turning the wrong direction. So, even before I put it in the car I ...

Re: 75 99 ITB racer

Got the seat the other day, and installed it, have to get some pictures of it later on, looks good, fits good! My shoulders are right at the harness holes, width is a little loose for me, but not terribly so. Also got the gripper installed in the original 4spd, took out the welded diff, which was ac...

Re: Gripper Limited Slip Technical Thread

Yeah, Gary said we should make a manual, but I'm not sure it's really neccisary. One of the things that was pretty confusing was the ramp angle situation, ours were in backwards like everyone else's, or at least I think so. This is a picture of the diff after flipping the ramps: https://lh4.googleus...

Looks good, what pumps are you using? I've got to figure something out for the ITB car, its set up for dual pumps right now.

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

I think I know this car, its rusty, but has some cool period mods, and the current owner has unrealistic ideas of it's value. Last I heard he was asking $4k though, so I guess $1700 is an improvement.

Re: where to buy lesjofors 30mm lowering springs

Rockauto has them listed under suspension for the c900, but amazon has them for a little bit cheaper if you search by the moog part number on rockauto.

Re: Building a 900 for hillclimbs

Slowly getting things done on the car. First off I ordered a quaife which has arrived. I also ordered some shoulder bolts that might work to adapt the 4 speed ring gear to the larger bolt holes in the diff. A couple dimensions were not listed for the bolts though, if they don't work I will look at ...

Re: 75 99 ITB racer

Yeah it worked out OK, after Jon mentioned reusing the piece of firewall, I stared at it for a while, and realized I could just hammer it flat, worked out pretty well. I'm hoping the boot still works, since the hole for it is back farther, and perpendicular to the floor rather than at like a 45* ang...

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Yeah, looks like they've just stuck the back half of a vanagon on the back, thats really weird, and completely overkill, but I guess if you think an old unimog is a good camping vehicle, you would consider that sort of thing a good idea too...

Re: 75 99 ITB racer

Paul, can you just set the removed piece back, however far needed, and box in around it? That was a thought, but I'm not sure that would make it a lot easier, and clearance wise a flat sheet would be better. The original piece has a curvature in it that is basically the opposite of what you'd want....

Re: 75 99 ITB racer

So its been cold as shit, but we finally broke down a bought a furnace for our garage from craigslist, so things are back underway, nothing like tropical 45* garage weather to get some shit done. Shuffled the shell over to the lift bay to get some things sorted out, first off was the firewall mod. W...
