Re: HVAC foam replacement
Nice, I was wondering if there was a solution for that stuff. Mine is pretty powdered as well. Bookmarked for when the dash goes back together.

Re: Odometer Repair - 'new' style from a '90
Hi Nate, I used a towel or something to pad the face, and grabbed the needle at the hub with a pair of needlenose. RadioFlyer explains far better than me about most of the repair, here's his post from his thread (also allows you to get a comparison between the 'old' and 'new' speedo styles in one th...

Re: '90 900 Project
Fast forward a few months. The car sat all winter due to the ridiculous cold we had. In May I started to do a few things, mainly starting to clean up the sludge in the engine bay. I put in a new washer pump, replaced a few wires melted by the aforementioned thermal event, and spliced in new headligh...

'90 900 Project
I found this 900 base model auto local-ish to me for cheap. I was initially thinking it would make a decent winter car. It was completely filthy, inside, outside, and underneath. Odometer was dead at 251k. Baseline pictures: _DSC0479.JPG _DSC0477.JPG Glorious blue interior. I wish the velour wasn't ...

Re: Odometer Repair - 'new' style from a '90
Well, the first round didn't do it, I broke it free screwing around on the kitchen table showing my daughter how I 'fixed' it. Nice job, dad... I ended up drilling a second hole from the face to give more room in there for my toothpick of superglue. Also switched to a liquid version that would 'flow...

Re: Odometer Repair - 'new' style from a '90
Well the needle definitely wasn't easy. Thought I broke it at first. I got distracted looking at parts cars on Sunday, and didn't get to finish again til today. Bottom line: I 'think' I've fixed it :yay: Drilled a hole in the side maybe 1/16" away from the bearing surface, but close enough that...

Odometer Repair - 'new' style from a '90
Hi all, the odometer on my project car is dead. Using RadioFlyer's SPG pics and a few other resources, i was able to get the dash out and onto the bench. 19050728680_fe8927a71b_z.jpg The speedo needle and face came off fine, leaving me with this: 18615875994_b253c47596_z.jpg Which is significantly d...

Re: Another RadioFlyer 1980 c900T
RadioFlyer - just wanted to pass on thanks for sharing about odo repair!
I got mine out of the dash this afternoon; I'll hopefully get the speedometer disassembled tomorrow.
Sorry you had to pass this car on, but it sounds like both your family and the car got good new homes!

Re: Noob
Thanks Hutch, sadly my wife has taken over the 9-5 because she can pass more people on the way to work than with her Odyssey. The 9-5 is definitely less fun than the 9000 or C900, but works great for devouring a lot of miles quickly with no stress. I kind of grabbed this C900 knowing it was in need ...

Hi all, thanks for letting me in! :yay: I heard about Saabrally from Adrian and a few other people who also post on Grassroots. I'm pretty amazed by the amount of knowledge and caliber of the builds here! I've been part of a Saab family since forever, I guess. My grandparents had a series of 96/97s ...
