Re: 130 Amp Alternator

Thinking about sticking in a later-model alternator from a '90 c900. Looks like an 80 or 90 amp. Problem is that the mounting hole is different. I was thinking about drilling out the stock mount and the bushing sleeve, but the bushings are all totally shot. Where do you guys pick up new bushings fo...

Re: Rally Car 16V NA Engine Build

Hi Luke, I did something similar about 30 years ago when I had a G production midget with 13-1 compression. Except I brazed a small high speed steel lathe tool to a valve head. worked just like your rig, but was only 4 valve reliefs to do. You might have been able to run your cutter faster than I r...

Re: Rally Car 16V NA Engine Build

I got a little sidetracked with spring house projects but I've made some progress on the engine build. A month or two ago I had done a valve clearance check with the cams installed using the putty method and discovered that I did not have sufficient clearance on the intake valves. I thought through ...

Re: 2.5 Monster Motor

Does anyone have a 2.1 block out and handy to measure? I need to verify the center of the crank to the top of the deck (Before finalizing measurements and ordering pistons). I currently have the block height minus ½ crank/main bearing at: 7.160” or 181.864 mm, with the total block height at 8.381” ...

Neat that that sender is available - would also work to drive a 2nd backup signal for a rally computer.... hmm....

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Looks like the ad has been updated, it's now $2900obo but it's an exhaust header gasket and not the head gasket. Since it's not a hugely collectible 99 I still think that's a little high priced but it does look pretty clean on the exterior so if the rust isn't too bad it could be a nice little car....

Re: Project Loki - 1988 classic SAAB turbo

Here is an offer for you. Hang it on a tow dolly and bring it to me in Penna. Let it here for a month or 2 and I'll figure it out . No charge . Then we can all sleep better at night after the car is fixed. I like a challange from time to time. Oh, if Adrian declines, I'll sign up for that deal :) I...

Re: Turbo options on a B engine

APC is standalone, all it does when knock is detected is lower the boost pressure. If the engine starts knocking, boost gets lowered until knock stops, then is listens for the knock sensor again. If there is enough boost that it'll knock consistently it'll just sit on the threshold of knock, it's n...

Re: Rally Car 16V NA Engine Build

Luke Could I get the measurements on that pulley? As I'm thinking about making a aluminium version in sice small for my projekt :-) Any problems in runing without the rubber dampering do you think? It was supposed to be for an H motor, but I think the one I got was actually for a B motor, as I had ...
