Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

Removed some accessories (wiring), the dash pad, glove box, pillar covers, sail panels today. When I dropped the three panels under the dash, I found this aftermarket accessory: http://saab99.motd.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/L1270511-168x300.jpg I put the car in neutral and pressed it .. the engi...

Re: 16 valve B motor - living the dream

I just had my water pump rebuilt at Troll Motors here in Seattle. Nate said he had a few impellers machined, but only had 1 or two seal/bearing kits. Nice to see the mallet action!

I'd probably have a 'question self' sticker on mine at this point.

Re: Rare 99 (Possibly others) Moto Lita Gold Steering Wheel

For the right person, this is the right wheel .. but its a bit Jacky, isn't it? Other than the gold and the engraving it looks like a great steering wheel.

Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

Hello Hans .. I knew of NWSOC but didn't join until I got this 99. I've met Dan and he sold me a pair of tail lenses and helped me with some parts for my glove box latch. He also has a pair of side indicators but the bolts are rusted, so I'll need penetrating oil to get them off. I think I'm just go...

Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

At first I thought my problem was Cookie Monster seat covers .. http://saab99.motd.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Saab-032.jpg but under those were country canvas bag seat covers .. and under that was a couple of 1" foam pads . and under that .. well............ http://saab99.motd.org/wp-conten...

Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

Has anyone seen a good leather kit for the seats? Doing a search for leather seats for a SAAB digs up so much crap, mostly the shittiest seat covers you'd never want to ever have in your car. I've removed the passenger seat and its two layers of seat covers .. the original cover was there .. duct-ta...

Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

Thanks for the info on the spoiler - I think I'll keep that as is. There is also a big hole in the right front fender where an after market antenna was fitted. During tear out of the interior I found the antenna cable that runs to the right rear quarter, but no hole for it. A friend of mine ran a bo...

Re: '77 99 GL 5DR

It doesn't even look like they scuffed the paint before the respray  Thats the $300 Earl Scheib special for you. I took it to a car wash to spray off the years of moss and dirty and the paint started coming off in sheets. Actually, its probably a good thing they didn't molest the original pain...

'77 99 GL 5DR

I know this is mostly a rally forum, but I'd like to make some posts regarding the car I'm trying to save. I'm hoping that by posting here I'll be motivated (and encouraged) to get the project done. If all goes well, we'll have a comfortable family car that will be a blast to drive. Then the NG900 h...

Re: INCAs on ebay (not mine)

Yeah, I like the color too and more importantly, so does my wife! My car's color scheme is: Body: Coral White Seats: Solar Red Sides: Manila Brown Carpet: Solar Red The original Coral White is more a cream color or what some people call Old English. This one at the SAAB museum looks like the pearl w...

Re: INCAs on ebay (not mine)

(linking directly to these images below) Here is a very famous 99 at the SAAB museum which it looks like the wheels were painted to match the car. I'm trying to decide what to do, though I'll worry about it once I get the body work done and the car painted. Do you have any pictures of the incas afte...

Re: INCAs on ebay (not mine)

Are Inca's originally painted? Has anyone had them blasted and powder coated? I've seen them with two types of caps, one that looks crammed in here from the back and one that clips in from the front.

Re: Model 90 left rear door

The VIN on the invoice starts out 9078xxxxx.. Isn't that supposed to be model+year? But who ever heard of a '78 90. :)
