Re: Lifter buckets: re-use or replace?

I just see if there is movement in the plunger. Bad ones are rock hard. Also I noticed the replacement ones and ones that come in later cars have slightly shorter skirts and no baffling(?) probably for lighter weight. I sometimes use a magnet on a stick to exercise the pump in kerosene and then soa...

Re: 90 Talladega SPG

Regarding the sensor mounting, I've been doing a lot of research on VR & hall effect sensors for the crank triggers on the Megasquirt forums lately. The general rule of thumb MS recommends is that your sensor bracket should be sturdy enough that you could use it as an engine pick-point. The sens...

I'm sure he will, and no worries, it was going to be a spare anyways, thanks for throwing it up for sale in the first place! One of these days I will go through all the stuff I have and will likely never use but other people could put to use too. Hutch and I did a little horse trading. A Saabrally ...

The music is certainly foreshadowing!

Great video. The intro is a nice touch that certainly sets it apart from your average event footage- keeps the sponsors interested too!

Re: wilwood caliper adapter group buy. 99 and 900 pre 88

That's cool. I have a set of Luke's adapters, and yes they are gold anodized. I was actually going to strip it off and polish them. Now I can just polish these... Polish away, but you can't see the bracket at all on the car... I have a set of Luke's in bare aluminum, and they are totally hidden beh...

Re: Reproduction special tool 8392987 Flywheel Lock

Nicely done. I remember chocking when I paid for my ebay locking tool and was out $55. This is a great little tool and I think it is worth reproducing. Once you get this done you can copy the big clutch compressor tool. That is definitely something that needs to be redone. Yeah, I can't even rememb...

Lifter buckets: re-use or replace?

How much wear is acceptable on lifter buckets? Do you guys just re-use them? Replacements are available at $30-something each, but I wasn't sure if it is necessary. The attached photo is an example of what I have. The tops are nice an smooth- you can't feel any scratches with your fingernail. The si...

Re: wilwood caliper adapter group buy. 99 and 900 pre 88

I am still mulling this over. I've heard that the wilwoods are not as reliable for a street car, especially one that may be driven in the weather. Is this true? I've also considered re-drilling the 4x8 hubs to 4x114. Not to derail the original thread, but any thoughts? I would say what you've heard...

Re: front spring removal

I found these to be much easier to use and give much more peace of mind than the hook type: http://www.amazon.com/Wilmar-W80555-Strut-Spring-Compressor/dp/B000NHWP8U/ref=lp_15709061_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1371565444&sr=1-18 And now it looks like they come in fashionable black: http://ecx.images-a...
