Re: Slave cylinder travel distance

It looks like the APRacing slave clyinder has a stroke of 18mm. This may be a solution if the stroke is longer than the standard slave clyinder. Does anyone know what that is?

Re: Slave cylinder travel distance

Dave said the that flywheel needed to be thinner in order to make room for 9k pressure plate which is supposed to be 3mm thicker. I'm going to the measure the differences between between the stock pressure plate & the 9k one. I should have done this before I put it in... Things were cramped when...

Re: Clutch compression tool

Well I tried the grease method on an extra slave on the bench. I was able to push the piston back when I removed both fittings from the slave cylinder.

Slave cylinder travel distance

So the slave cylinder failed spectacularly in my c900 as you guys read in my clutch tool thread. One morning I pushed the clutch in and the brake fluid light came on. I checked under the hood and there was a huge puddle of brake fluid on the skid plate and the reservoir was half empty. The cylinder ...

Re: Clutch compression tool

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. The grease method is intriguing. How do you retract the the slave cylinder once you get the ring in when it's full of grease? If I open the bleeder and try to squeeze the cylinder back, will I be able to squeeze it hard enough so the grease will come out the b...

Clutch compression tool

The slave cylinder on my c900 blew this morning. I don't have the special tool to compress the pressure plate. To make matters worse, I'm running a 9k clutch now. Does anymore have pictures of tools they've made to compress the clutch while it's in the car? A quick Google search lead me to a Taiwane...

You could always run the car night and see if there is any arcing on the plug wires.

Re: 86 notchback in the Rose City

http://www.hagerty.com/ $360 a year for unlimited mileage. The car just can't be your DD. I have it on my '85t. Full coverage with an $8000 declared value on it. Btw, My '85 was hit on the left side and pushed the bumper clear to the right when I bought it. Using a come-along I straightened it. Can ...

Re: T5 on a c900- Getting the timing under control

How are you checking the timing? From what I've read, the ignition offset variable just affects ignition (duh) so the fuel injection timing still will be off which may cause an issue at that level of change. Best bet would be to correct the trigger mount or wheel the 10 degrees if you are sure it i...

T5 on a c900- Getting the timing under control

I know there are a few guys on here running T5 on a classic so... I recently converted my c900 to T5. It runs fairly well but has several problems, one of which is the timing is off. I believe the timing is off 9-10 degrees. At idle, I can't read the timing marks because the ignition is that retarde...

Re: can you guess which year?

LOL, jerk.... I actually did not know that - but sometimes when the planets align just righ, and I slam the door hard enough, and it hasn't rained for at least 2 weeks, the central locking works for a cycle or two. I was guessing the switch at the lock cylinder was going open circuit. One of ...

Re: T5 Wiring Harness Help

Does it make more sense to make the harness from scratch, or adapt an existing one? Adapting an existing one would be 100x easier. You're talking 60-70 different wires running all over the place, not to mention all of the oddball connectors you would need. I added 6" of length to the entire ha...
