The problems with projects like this is you learn so much and your techniques improves so much throughout the process that by the end all you can think about is how much better you could do it if you started over, and yet the idea of ever doing all that work again makes you want to throw up.

If you're making it yourself, thicker will be easy to make it leak-proof. It's actually kind of tricky to get the weld clean enough to seal liquid on thin aluminum. I would definitely not go thinner than .062". Even if it's .125" it won't weigh very much. My go-to for tanks is 5052 or 300...

What psi is the c900 cap? something like 14 psi sound right? I need the inlet/outlet ports as well for the radiator and waterpump hoses.
