Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

From what I can see, its not even correct in many regards. For $150,000 in purported restoration costs, it better be absolutely perfect in every respect. I agree. For that kind of $ it shouldn't have badges, body parts, or headliner from a different model vehicle and things like the carpet and the ...

Re: STIG TO DRIVE THE CLARION 99 TURBO

Birdie, First, congratulations on being the first and last to post to SAABRALLY between the downtime  I've read though your thread on UKS, that sounds like quite an event! 1000 rally cars in one place? I bet there are barely 1000 rally cars in the US. It's too bad that Stig never got the c...

Re: HAREWOOD HILCLIMB

I was reading though this thinking, "That's some pretty tough competition in that class. I bet the 99 Turbo could benefit from a weight loss program(me)." Then I saw the bit about the 240 SlowVo service barge and thought, "well if he's thinking about towing with 'The Other Swede' then...

Re: Oil cooler problems?

I would start with a factory-recommended oil first. One possibility is that the thick oil is clogging the oil cooler as it cools down, slowing the flow through the oil cooler, and preventing more oil from getting into the oil cooler - resulting in the remaining oil in the system getting hotter. The ...

Re: Oil cooler problems?

Why are you running 10w60 oil?

I've never really felt too confident with those drain-plug installed oil temp senders. I forget why but I never felt that mine was reading correct. It may have been shorting against the skid plate? Then it got crunched by the skidplate...

Re: Shifter Bushings

The "reverse lockout pin" does more than make the reverse lockout work. It guides the shifter along the path inside the plastic plate on the underside of the shifter housing. You probably need to adjust that first. Fix that and then post an update. It could be other things but I'd start th...

Stages Between the Rallies Rallysprint 2017

I got a chance to strap into the right seat with RallyHo! Motorsports back in June. A few good pictures showed up along with this 'gif': https://www.instagram.com/p/BV1JLEFgBKw/?taken-by=nemesisphoto :rock on: ONeilRallySprint_StagesBetweenTheRallies_25JUN2017_9.jpg ONeilRallySprint_StagesBetweenThe...

That green 1980 on BAT is amazing.
Speaking of 1980 900 Turbos on BAT. This looks a bit familiar

Jon, thanks for sharing this. It's pretty cool to see that they can be popped apart and cleaned.

We have one of these at work, maybe this would get them apart?

Re: Rally Sweden 2015

Every time I look at one of these events I still can't believe how many swedish rally cars there are. Thanks for the video Birdie! There's not much more exciting at a rally than the sound of a 5cyl Audi. Except maybe a stroker. And that reed Volvo at the beginning of the video... sounds great and so...

Re: Silver State Classic

(Is it just me, or does 90 mph not seem so fast anymore?) It depends on what you're driving and where you're driving. What are the decision factors for you in choosing a car to use? Top speed? Stability? Pucker-factor? Car prep? Kelly was just asking me the other day about high speeds. I told her t...

Looks pretty good on a 99 sedan. I'd take one.
