New Hill climb motor for "RED"

Let me starts by saying I am a copy cat of sorts. Why re- invent everything? following Luke's lead I purchased some Molnar Toyota rods and made a jig to recut the rod bearing tabs on the other sides and with a different setback. Not being up to Luke's skills , I took my time and measured and checked...

Re: 73 96

Be good to put the steel gears in the new motor. Or certainly save them if the fiber gears in the other motor were new. I like your allusion, I assume it is because the steel balance gear has not been pulled on to alignment with the gear set yet. Other wise it looks 1 tooth off. Haven't worked on a ...

Re: front hubs

If no one else comes forward, I have a set of 87 900 turbo hubs and uprights that used vented rotors. Only problem is I am in Penna.

Re: Twin Scroll Turbo

Thanks for your input. Its easy enough to make some changes and see if it works as you say. I'll just monitor the oil that winds up in the turbo intake and then the intercooler. I am assuming that you put a petcock or a drain plug at the bottom of the can? Just where did you locate the scouring pad,...

Re: Twin Scroll Turbo

Thanks Dennis , I am using a small can with a breather on top to the surrounding air. It keeps the oil out of the intake stream and the intercooler, but still did not satisfy me. Once I started to make big power blow- by started to creep up on me. I guess my motors are a little loose. As the leak do...

Re: Twin Scroll Turbo

Dennis , The catch can and bracket caught my eye. Any photo showing where the plumbing goes to the motor? Looking for other examples of controlling the breather output.
All that wiring for the sensors has made be dizzy ! And then the theory.
Maybe I'll just go work on my 2 stroke?

Perhaps better if Paul H chimes in , but briefly Paul and Erica married and moved. Delorean retains the "Compound" along with several fine cats.

Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread

Paul and Erica bought a place near York PA. so it could be. I don't remember ever seeing that car. Makes me want to straighten out the CIS. well maybe not so much that I want to buy it. But if you do Hutch, remember, I still owe you.

Re: Rebuilding hydraulic lifters

Jon, Interesting Stuff. I am going out and start banging my lifters on a board.
I like your tooling also. When I get some time I will send photos of my tooling for head work for your review. I do some things a bit different, but you may find them useful.

Re: C900 gearbox girdle

Dennis here are some shots of the latest failure. The lower primary chain bearing housing in a 5 speed. From our # 113 Lemons car. I have not seen this before and I have seen the insides of many transmissions.

Dennis ,I like that a lot. Gonna be hard to put the shift pin in place though.
I 'll post some pictures of our Lemons car failure at the lower chain drive end.

Re: BSI202 SS manifold?

I was running 14 PSI to start and in 2015 moved up to 18 PSI . All with a modest 6800 redline. several places I run right up on the rev limiter and feather it to make a corner without up and down shifting again. There is a big difference in Kick with the 4 extra PSI in boost. This year I am going wi...

Re: BSI202 SS manifold?

Interesting John that you mention DSP. I did not even think there was any possibility of running a 900 T car in that class? anyway , with the quaife and the GT28 it has been harder on the trans, mostly 2nd synchro on downshifts. On track events, I have cleaned off 3rd and 4th gears on a few occasion...

Re: BSI202 SS manifold?

I have a GT28 RS BB that I purchased with the T-3 flange. let me tell you, it will make a lot of power!
and yes, I did start to brake things, but that is all about how much boost you run and how much tire you have on the car. If you have the money, go buy one!
