Re: CPS Sensor gap - what SHOULD it be with the flywheel kit
Similar question, but slightly different.... I'm looking to find out EXACTLY where the shutter wheel should line up with the CPS when at TDC. We had my motor and trans out the other day for a swap, and when we put the new clutch and flywheel on and had everything at TDC, the shutter wheel in relatio...

Re: Turbo options on a B engine
I think Tial makes an external WG that fits the B motors.

So then you've got a good selection of Garrett's to choose from, you just may need to plumb water to it depending what you go with.

Re: Slave cylinder travel distance
Thanks for following up Nate! And yeah, 1st I ALWAYS make sure I'm to a full stop before engaging.
Glad to hear it was just a fluke and not an error on Dave's part. Dude knows his shit.

Re: Slave cylinder travel distance
Nate what did you end up doing here? I just installed my Dave built 9k clutch on c900 flywheel setup yesterday. It looked like the travel distance on the slave was going to be very far before it hit the pressure plate, but turned out once we got it blead the pedal feel and throw is perfect! Drove 10...

Re: Dave Kennedy
Jon posted this on TSL as well, so I will share my response from there too... Dave sounds as though he's been pretty busy lately. He did just come though big time for me on a flywheel and clutch setup for my 85 c900. FWIW I had sent him payment a little while ago, but explicitly said I was in "...

Re: Stock cam choices?
^And to get back to the original topic of the thread... what cams?
I could see the logic in the better flowing T5 head, but again, you're talking race application and high end power, when I want low-mid around town and back road drivability.

Re: Stock cam choices?
Thanks for the post Gary! This is very interesting stuff and something for me to think about down the road.
Right now I'm just looking forward to getting a working motor in and enjoying the rest of the summer behind the wheel of my c900.

Re: Stock cam choices?
^right. I know of a few other people who have put a turbo on the 2.1 n/a motor. But like I said above, it's a high compression motor and you can't run much boost. Hell iirc even Jeff Prop was running super low compression in his blue Airflow car, something like 7.5 or 8.0:1? But that enabled him to ...

Re: Stock cam choices?
I have heard the 2.1 turbo setup is very fun, but you're essentially limited to an LPT setup with such a high C/R
And yeah, my B202 has 2.0 liter pistons in it of course... so the C/R would drop with the 2.1 head

This wheel...
...just a bit more grippy at 10-2 and 8-4 and with a different center bit. I forget that the date stamp was on the back of my wheel, I wanna say 84 maybe?

Re: Stock cam choices?
^exactly the sort of info/opinion I was looking for Hutch! I DON'T want to have to be on boost and deep into the revs al the time to feel the power. I'm thinking I'll stick with the normal B202 head, and then just play around with cams.

Re: Stock cam choices?
I had an interesting (albeit brief) conversation with Dave Kennedy this morning and head/cam combos came up. He mentioned that in his experience, the 2.1 head with it's much larger intake ports tends to slow spool time. Granted most of his experience is on LH cars, and maybe you can adjust timing a ...

Re: Stock cam choices?
Very interested in hearing how it works out... I've also lost compression on #1, and I suspect we pushed the car too hard while doing some road tuning a little while back. We got it pinging pretty badly (too much timing for the 85 motor) and I suspect a cracked piston. We'll find out when we pull it...
