Re: Howdy! Noob with a Saab 93f

Welcome! That must be the one that Tom Donney was selling. I'm in the process of making my '64 96 into a runner, see the thread here.

Re: Wanted, 80+ 99 shell

I still have the '84 for sale. Rear quarters are rusted on the outside only. Floors are solid. Rear panel was replaced years ago. Car is Azure blue 5 speed H-engine with single carb. Runs well, but clutch release bearing is noisey. Has DRL and rear foglamp, fixed side windows and KPH speedo. Sellin...

Re: So I bought a bullnose stroker

It is a pretty original car, fairly unmolested. I plan on sorting all of the mechanicals and driving it as-is for a while and maybe do a proper restoration some day. We got the brake system put back together yesterday, we successfully bled the system and it's holding pressure though I suspect it has...

Ten 99s for sale

This randomly showed up in my email box this morning: I have a collection of 99's I'd give to a good home. Know of anybody. Ten or so in upstate NY. So I replied back and got more info: The cars were in pretty good shape when we got them, along with a ton of parts. Came from Robert ---- in CT. He wa...

Re: So I bought a bullnose stroker

I'm planning on getting this car running this weekend and fixing the brakes. I got some new front hoses and had a brake line fabricated today. So with any luck, by the end of the weekend I'll have a running and stopping stroker that can be registered.

Re: When was the last time you saw a 99 on the road?

The last time I saw a 99 in the wild (not counting Saab events or friends cars) was probably about 10 years ago on I-95 in southern New Hampshire. The last time I saw a 96 just running normally on the road was 6 or 7 years ago on I-64 here in Louisville, KY and I ended up becoming good friends with ...

New automotive blog - theshiftpattern

I launched this blog last week, it's a place where I share my automotive-related observations and activities. Check it out, read, and comment. There will be plenty of Saab content, in fact today I talked about the 99 Turbo a little bit.

Re: 1978 EMS Rally Build

Very cool car! Count me in the drive it like it is camp.

You got some cool accessories and parts with it. You don't see many 99s in North America with the Euro headlights, I wonder how long it's been wearing those. I noticed it also has 900 lights on the hatch and the three piece spoiler.

Haven't gotten it off yet, gotten sidetracked by some other projects, hope to get it off this weekend. I did take the plugs out and peeked inside the cylinders, doesn't look like they are full of coolant so that's good.

eBay that stuff, they will pay big bucks for the round headlight grilles in Europe. I sold a 99 set-up for more than $400 recently.

Re: My rallyX practice car

I didn't get the head off yesterday, it was 100 degrees out and I was too lazy. Maybe I'll try to attack it tonight. Because of the failure symptoms I'm hoping it's just the head gasket. In any case I'm going to get the head checked out. If I do need a head I think I can get one locally, there's a N...

Re: My rallyX practice car

Check the one you have first. It may have just warped, may be able to have it serviced and plopped back with a new gasket. I have a few heads that I was going to trash. All of them in good shape. I just have more than I need. I would swap you a working one for your broken one, but there would be sh...
