Re: Fantastic destruction

I imagine that made a bit of a racket. I think I remember seeing a gearbox on the floor at Eric Nelson's like that. Something with extra oil capacity added to the pan. Is all this related to Kippy's IT car? I heard a rumor that a familiar looking 1980 99 B turbo might make its way over to your shop ...

Re: 200+ MPH in a C900?

They have been having a mostly typical season so far. The usual locations have had enough ice for racing 4 weekends in a row now. The 114 was set by street car on studless tires. I see that there is more to it than traction. Gearing and aerodynamics are huge once you get going. Somebody needs to fin...

Re: 200+ MPH in a C900?

Looks like AMEC did a top speed contest last weekend. They had a clear 9/10 mile section of ice on Lake Algonquin in Wells NY and a radar gun. Seems like it was a free for all, even the Street Legal class cars got to run... no roll cages. Apparently top speed was 114 set by a wrx wagon on Blizzaks? ...

If the shocks are not bent or leaking then they are probably fine. They really don't wear out, if they are intact then I'd run them as is.

Re: 86 Audi coupe gt

I heard a thing on NPR a year or so ago about consumer items most popular with folks who describe themselves as "conservatives". Big surprise, when they cot to luxury cars... AUDI was at the top of the list for women, can't remember where it ranked for men.

You should buy more than 1, you could probably retire soon with your return on investment.

Re: Anybody else want a Gripper LSD for 99/90/900?

Thanks Luke, I sent that information to Tom. So, who's still interested? I'd like to do this soon if possible, between a recent shady craigslist deal and tax returns I have enough $, but there are so many other ways I could go about spending it.........if you know what I mean. I hear you man, Its n...

Re: Anybody else want a Gripper LSD for 99/90/900?

Pascal, Thanks for the generous offer to babysit for me. Shortly after I started this thread I did however end up buying Mongoswede's unused unit from the original order. Some great day... not too many years from now I will get an elaborate email from Luke explaning how awesome it looks in the glori...

I thought the same thing and sent a message with the link to Stephen Denton. He's one of Claude's pals out there and also the guy I had bought Claude's old notchback 900 iceracer from last year. No word back from him on it though.

Rookin gud mister. I'd go even softer on the springs for any rally-x on snow or ice. Ask Kip for the ones that came out of the back of your car, still fitted in Omologato I bet.

Re: Stafford Springs RallyX 2012

Whoa... poor Omologato indeed. He gave me all he had 2003-2011. When that car was good, it was "really" good. Lots of race miles... even won that Stafford event a couple of times. This was maybe 2006 or so https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/12938_1294101833809_1268202679_...

Re: The 99 Holy Fucking Grail

I don't know... this thing looks suspicious. I'm thinking Luke might have made it out of some old alternators he melted down and a standard 8v turbo to throttle body duct.
