With the team of Sorensen and Iden together again, the Saab Team was ready to take on the event that ended in heartbreak just one year ago. Starting out conservatively with their eyes on the goal of getting through the event unscathed, the driver/co-driver pair built their confidence and toward the end of the event were posting fast times for two wheel drive cars.
In the end the results were: 1st in class and 2nd overall in two wheel drive. Not a bad showing for a car so recently put back together. Looking forward, the decision for NEFR needs to be made. Stayed tuned for that information.

Good job chaps! I'm glad everything went well. I checked results Sunday morning and saw that you had done well on the first club rally. I'm glad you were able to keep everything clean!
I think you should really plan on coming up to Maine. For $400 you'd be nuts not to! You'll need a stronger skidplate though (like the last revision you had on the old car) with some foam between the gearbox and plate to keep rocks from nesting in there. I'm about 3 hours away or so from there so if you decided you wanted to break up the drive a bit you can shack up at my place.

We drove conservatively but still set some decent times, especially after we swapped onto new tires in the afternoon on saturday, we took a full minute off a stage time with new tires!
So Geoff, how about co-driving in Maine? John and Josh both have to go to the same wedding that weekend...

I could probably do that. I need to get a little surgery done at some point (which would limit co-driving ability for a month or so) and I'm trying to schedule it around work (which is going to be super busy all summer). I don't think I'll be going under the knife before the Maine rally but I'm working out the timing now and should know in a few days.
Could I borrow Hans and Helmet from Josh or John?

I'd be up for Co-driving at Maine. I'll have to double check the dates but I don't think I have any conflicts and would have time to get a new helmet. let me know.

I hope that your transformation to "Geoffrika" goes well, I know that it was not an easy decision to make but sometimes we are just born with an outward appearance that does not match our inside feelings.

Well its a two day event, so maybe you and Geoff want to split it up and also split the cost of notes and stuff? I'm pretty sure I can get a Hans but I will have to inquire, do you guys have any other possible sources to borrow a hans from? I definatly have a spare SA2000 helmet and extra hans posts. This could be a really fun event!
