After running better than the rest of our class in two wheel drive for 1.5 days of rallying, a blown gearbox led to a still respectable second place finish in class and 12th overall.
Even with only one gear to choose from Luke and Josh were a mere 18 seconds off the class winner's time for the last stage.
It was a frustrating end to an excellent weekend of rallying.
Saturday night during a once over of the car we found that power steeting fluiid was leaking but couldn't identify the source. We tightened what we thought was the problem. At the 1st service on Sunday the leak was back and worse than before, the car was actually fighting with Luke, luckily the leak that turned out to be a loose fitting.
The weather was fantastic the whole weekend though a bit on the chilly side once the sun went down.
I'm sure others will include their accounts as well as uploading some pictures.

Seth...me...Mongo... Managed 2nd in Medium Stock Rally moto class and 5 overall out of the bikes. With that finish I clinched first place in the Medium Stock class for the year and I think I am 2nd place points holder overall for the east coast this year.

Re: Black River Stages Results
I talked with the team that had the green/silver diesel golf. They also blew a gearbox on that stage (and they had it rebuilt a week before!). They said you got moving again on SS16 after they passed you "but not too fast". I ended up giving the co-driver (Jess) a ride back to service to pick up their truck. What gear were you left with?
Congrats Mongo!
Did anyone else notice that the Evo of Donnely/Duffy made it through the last two stages with the ticking motor only to be towed back to the fire hall by McCormack? I think they even ended up in 1st place.

Let's use some rational, infallible logic just like Socrates or Locke or one of them old time philosophers...
The transmission is from a Saab, therefore it must be blown.
