I had a great time on day 2 of this event, day one was a bitch. it was sweet on this stage called "breakdown" (as the road sign off the main road states) some people started slowing down, and i pushed pretty hard and ended up cracking the gearbox... happy with my time though! :)
great event, all in all. More on the blog: http://www.northwindracing.com

Re: wild west rally 2009
just replacing the gearbox, it was a junk unit i tested with a drill one night and 5 rallies later its time to be retired.. :)
the crack in the windshield, however.. might require some body work before i can replace the window. i think it can be pulled, but i'm no body man.
i think this is our last event until february, so we will get a different engine/trans and try to fix this body. also we got some free kubota orange paint for after the body is fixed, enough to paint the service rig and the car. :)

Kubota orange is probably close enough to sunset orange to not matter

good job!
I still love the masking tape numbers!
A busted gearbox and he still finishes the event. James F., eat your heart out!

Well, we dont stop for anything. My co-driver and I have talked about this in the past and i suppose if we were in a points battle it would be different, but if anything gets fucked up we just push ahead and so far it hasn't failed us. :)
James pulled the skid plate down (which was severely deformed) and some chunks of gear box came down with it! ha
