AMEC, the icreacing club, is hosting a unique (for them) event at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, NY on Nov. 8th.
The oval track is smooth pavement and they're gonna work it along with anything else paved into a mini road course for what they are calling a "High Speed" event.
None of these guys are real big fans of the 1000 cone, 2nd gear creepers that most people call Auto-X so I think this has a pretty good chance of being awesome. I'll be there wearing something Swedish, hope the weather holds.

Jordan you can drive anything, no racecar needed just bring a helmet. Also, I've been known to share my car with almost anyone who actually wants to drive it just lmk. In this case it will be my daily driver, non turbo notch 900 so not too exciting anyway.
To all or any planning to come, make sure you sign up on the thread linked above, this one might fill up. I think that 60 is the limit.

Yeah even my daily driver is not fit for any type of driving with anger. It's hanging in there getting from point a to point b...
Thanks for the offer (although you did say *almost* anybody) ... it would definitely be cool. I'm sure I'd be pretty slow. Besides a few random auto-x's I don't have much seat time. I'll definitely let you know.
P.S. anybody want to buy a Viggen?

Why sell the Viggen? Don't you need an actual working car to get around in?

Meh...the benefits of working from home most of the time, I don't have to go out much. It just needs some $$$ suspension repairs I've been putting off. It had some terrible shaking on the way to the casino... not sure if wheels became unbalanced or what. I need to get some more work before I can put money into it...cons of working for yourself.

Yeah, looks like several examples of old and new american muscle, as well as the possibility of a fellow iceracer's 1000 hp Viper. Lots of Swedes, I should try to get Chris Rizzon to drive his '78 turbo instead of the icerace spg.

Yes we both got beat by cars that are lighter , smaller, have more powerful engines and better gearing.

Re: High Speed Auto-X in Upstate NY
The thing thats worse than getting beat by a Mini is that I got beat by a "Jordan"...... in my own car no less, which he had never seen or driven before. Looks like I need to challenge a re-match.
Seems like more of these events are in the pipeline and thats good because it was fun. We just need about 2 more runs each. I don't know if they should limit entries or re-work the staging procedure to save time but its too long of a day for 3 runs..... even 3 pretty fast runs.
So who's in for one of these come Spring. We could turn it into a SAAB Rally meet! Something like 10-12 old SAABs filling up the top slots in every class would really drive some people nuts.
