Vermont Winter Rally ("Brisk" all night TSD)

Postby Crazyswede » Sun Feb 14, 2010 8:50 am

Well Geoff and I finished another (#6 I think) Vermont winter rally. We took 2nd in stock class and 6th overall in the first event....the rally is broken up into 2 events. We also entered as a National competitor (4 cars in this class)...and we won the National event. It looks like we may have won the 2nd event outright and possibly won the overall event. But we won't know for a week or so when they finish all the scores. If we do win the overall then we get our names on the big trophy and we get $100. It was not as challenging in the road condition category but it was a much trickier event with lots of "Traps" We never went off the road but did have one half spin the left us sideways in the road. Now we are back at my apartment...I am exhausted and Geoff is about to slog another 1.5 hours back home.

You'd like this event if you tried it. You're always talking about $/seat time. You get a LOT of seat time and it isn't puttering along.

Yes, It does appear to be the king of all TSD's, maybe next year. I came close to giving it a shot this year since I wouldn't have been headed to an AMEC event the next day. I recently broke the exhaust off the iceracer and wasn't looking forward to trying to peel all the vinyl off.... ended up losing motovation.

It's later than it's ever been before!!

Most people with stickers on their car found some tape of a similar color to their car and put it over the stickers. Scott's new truck was covered with large squares of blue painter's tape. I also heard a rumor of the truck pulling Jamie off of a snowbank with a VW daisy-chained, pulling the truck.

I heard an Audi went off too.

One year there were 2 or 3 cars with busted oil pans. Another year a Jetta on it's side.

We didn't keep the nose pointed in the right direction the whole time either...
