Ready for Action - Black River Stages 2010

Postby Luke » Tue Sep 07, 2010 1:18 pm

The team spent the weekend doing final preparations for the Black River Stages Rally which will be held on Sept 17 in Harrisville, NY.
Rally-moto competitor and former Saabrally co-driver Seth Strait will once again take the right seat as co-driver for the event. Seth has intimate knowledge of the event both as a competitor and co-driver.
The rally car was updated with a new gearbox with shorter gearing for the twisty stages of lewis county and new bump stops for the many jumps on the famous "goose pond" stage.

I'm going to attempt to make team updates in this thread from BRS, depending on cell phone coverage. Look here for news!

I'm interested in the gripper diff that Seth had for sale and Luke recently caniblazed. If its not too late or already claimed, I could use it. Just wanted to throw this out there in case there was a chance it come come back to VT with Seth this weekend. $$$

PS Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and catch some major air.

Weather is great. Most of the crew is here, making last minute checks on the car. We even ghetto rigged an HID into one of the Hellas! Hopefully that electrical tape holds up..

On our way home after an incredibly successful weekend. Despite a few minor setbacks, intake couplings popping off, floor Jack failures, a questionable ball joint, and a few other small issues. We kept our heads together and managed to come away with a 1st in 2wd. And 4th overall. Wicked tired and in need of showers and a good nights sleep. Completing our return home in the morning.

He said they didn't have stage notes and were flying by sight. They took a turn that was apparently decreasing radius L3 and they just kinda slid through and lost most of their speed, but then did a slow roll onto their side in a ditch, and the roof hit a tree. The car is remarkable unscathed apart from the roof.
