Re: Ready for Action - Black River Stages 2010
Thanks. I tried, but I wasn't able to update much with placement times since I left during the second day, but now everyone is aware of it anyway. BRS has the most impressive cell coverage out of all the rallies!

I strongly disagree about the notes. I've co-driven for 0 cars a number of times and having notes is essential. At every event I've found errors with course setup ranging from chicanes being set up backwards to finish boards being placed hundreds of feet late. These are all safety concerns. If I hadn't fixed the finish board placement there would have been an EVO stuffed into the front of a parked ambulance at stage finish. In my opinion, cleaning up safety issues is part of checking the course.
You're right about speed. The 0 car should not be faster than the slowest competitor (assuming the slowest competitor didn't stop at some point). But the 0 car should not be driving the course at grandma pace either.
The reason for the 0 car off at BRS was because they had no warning of the deceptive L3-. No notes, no course warning arrow. I co-drove for that same 0 car last year and we opened the same stage but we had notes. We had no issues with the course surprising us.

Congrats on the win.
If you had the chance to drive the balls off of something on a closed course, you would...
all the sweeps do it.
Actually, I get that chance every year at 100aw and have also done it at other events and do not drive balls out. Anybody who does that in our rally is not asked back as they aren't doing their job. Have some fun, sure, but don't put the event at risk in doing so. It reflects very poorly on events who have lead cars or sweep crash out, as well as the driver.
And just to clarify the term "notes." Lead cars should have a route book, but not the full on every foot of the course pace notes. They shouldn't be going so fast that they can be caught out.

I'm pretty sure that Bruce was the actual "0" car this time, not the "00" or "000" as he sometimes is. The 000 should crawl through, the 00 at a normal road pace and the 0 should be at a near competition speed, at least thats how its always been since I've been around.

I watched the 00, red Subaru, go through Jayville last weekend. He was going as fast, or almost as fast, as the competitors, at least on the section I was watching.

Re: Ready for Action - Black River Stages 2010
The "00" that you saw on Jayville was going through quick because he was re-sweeping after having swept previously, plus he was functioning as the "0" car because we were running bikes and cars simultaneously on different stages so all course opening cars couldn't run both stages.

PS Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and catch some major air.
Hey Josh, thanks so much for the loaner shelbies, the tires worked out really well, (Seth I'll put a check in the mail tommrow, forgot to give you one at the event) I sent two wheels back with Seth, they were the best ones that I had loose, but they arent perfect, but good racing wheels.
The gripper didnt make the trip but the replacement washers were distributed. I told Seth that I would counterbore the cover plate for him as well, still need to do that.
