Stafford Springs Rally-X Jan. 15-16 2011

Postby Jordan » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:20 pm

So a couple us have been talking about doing the NER RallyX at Stafford Springs (CT) in January as another SAAB MAAB event.

Link is here. http://www.ner.org/rally/rx/event/20110115_stafford

Its a two day championship event but I was thinking about doing just one day. It depends on what others feel like doing. If it's fairly dry out I'd probably bring the race car... if it is snowy/slushy/salty, I'd probably just drive my daily driver again.

Who's in? It's about 45 min from my house – its supposed to be a nice course (big) but lots of people.

I've done the double-header for a few years. Kelly and I might go again this year depending on scheduling.

What would be the options for lodging in the event we were to do both days? If Im gonna drive up there Id want to make a long weekend out of it.

I would need to adjust the valves before running the car again. Im getting a bit of lifter noise since the Stratton event.

Ill claim a bed/bedroll! There was someone looking into that shim kit for me but I have not heard back yet. Hopefully I didnt hurt anything and the tan bucket is up for another trip to New England in time.

If we can expect the same kind of turnout as at the Stratton Rally-X, Ill do up another event shirt.

I just want to gauge the interest in this?????

I think t-shirts for a mid-January event in New England may not be a hot seller.

I could possibly do a long sleeve or a knit thermal.

Things are not looking so good for me to make it to the event. The car needs some attention that I have neither time or money to deal with at the moment. The heater core is leaking on my feet and the interior that I just put back together is soaked with antifreeze. I neglected it and let it sit with just water in it like a dumbass. Other than that it is just generally running like a pig. I have some other stuff going on that needs to be attended to as well. Just not good timing. Might be spring before I can blow the cobwebs out of the car.

Did any of you guys end up going to Stafford? I did, and can't remember seeing any Saabs though. I enjoyed the event very much.

I'll bet you did Mike! Looks like you and your Sentra performed well.

I think we all flaked out . It sneaked up on me after the holidays and birthday party and I really wasn't ready. I'd like to go back though at some point if we can get organized. Was it a good snow event?
