I might try and make it to one of the PHA events this year as long as I can afford it. A few people I know from NEHA went to an event last year and said the road/event was awesome.

Do you have a preference between the events?

STPR: June 3,4

NEFR: July 15,16

West Virginia: Aug 12,13

Black River: Sept 24, 25

That may be optimistic, but it would be nice to hit all 4.

My only conflict...which I didn't realize until now....is that the australian even conflicts with brs :(

I ran the Duryea event, and Jefferson circuit. I have yet to do any other events. Of the 2 Reading events, Duryea is the full hill, Pagoda is the short course. The entry is only like 175.00 for each event. Make sure you research the rules... Pa is strict with their required prep.

I am realistically hoping to get to BRS, though I would love to go to STPR (just for breakfast in that train car diner).

I think you should consider Maine too, you've never been to that one and its a lot closer now that you are in mass.

I concur. And Jason cooks a pretty mean meal at Maine. Of course we won't force you to eat the vegetables.

You missed the feast I threw together at STPR. All the veggie lovers make it a challenge for a meat eater. I have to do some planning if I'm gonna do a cookout this year.

Throw some Bacon and cheese on those veggie burgers and they are bearable.

I used to eat double veggie burgers with some nice stinky sharp cheese on top and some Annies Goddess dressing on the bun. The thing with veggie burgers is you have to treat them somewhat like vegetables, not red meat, and stay away from the styles that are pretending to be meat. Would you put ketchup on vegetables? eww.

Goddess dressing.

Potatoes are vegetables (according to the public school system, french fries qualify as healthy eating) so the answer to ketchup on vegetables... yes :yay:

If you really want to get technical,.... Tomato's are a fruit, so your actually putting fruit on a vegetable. If Im gonna do that I might as well just have a bloody mary.

Theres a burger shop out in Cali ( I think it was Fatburger) that has a sandwich called "The Hypocrite" which is the veggie burger with bacon and cheese. I mean really,... its all the same, just flipped around. You put lettuce, tomato, onion, etc on a meatburger, why is it so wrong to put meat on a veggie burger?

I have never had any luck finding Scrapple when we hit the breakfast joints, I may just bring my own this time. MMMMM! ground up pig parts patties are YUMMY!

I've only ever seen scrapple on menus in PA. It just sounds gross.

I like Mongo's description, "That's when you see the chef duck out of the kitchen, run out to the road with his spatula, and scrape up whatever mix of roadkill he can before running back to the grille."

The root of the word "Scrapple" comes from Scrap Pile. Its made up of mostly pig livers, but there are bits and pieces of other organs and pig parts, and anything else that may have fallen off the butchers table.

Mike Rowe made scrapple on an episode of "Dirty Jobs"

I could eat scrapple every day! Its definitely a regional thing.
